Her work was inspired by her 11-year weight loss journey where she felt the need to strip her cultural identity to fit into society's standard of "white healthy" aka the Western Diet. Samantha's mission is to voice the cultural differences in the health/fitness industry so WOC can take control of their bodies by eating the foods from their background without shame. She is a WOC stop dieting/emotional eating expert and a health advocate for her community.

Weight loss done right!

It’s refreshing to see Sam make the weight loss experience safe, fun, and a love first approach. There are so many pressures in this society of what we should look like, and how to restrict everything we eat. I love how Sam teaches us to way what we love in the journey to weight loss.

It’s okay to eat!

I love this podcast because it confirmed for me what I already believed to be true.

I’ve been on a health and fitness journey for so long now and it wasn’t until my late 20s early 30s that I realized that 1200 calories was not okay and not working

I wish I had this podcast then 😅

Now listening to Your Winning Journey I feel so validated in my thinking and that I can eat what I like. I don’t have to adhere to a bro diet that doesn’t understand me as a WOC

Sam’s perspective on weight loss is so refreshing. I cringe at toxic diet culture content that tries to villainize our cultural foods and practices, so when I started listening to Sam and heard her talk about stir fry and egg rolls, I knew it was the right place for me. I’ve learned so, so much and all her episodes are great!
