A podcast that gets to the bottom of social anxiety (why it holds us back, how it does so, and what we can do about it) so that you get to the top where you believe you’re worth knowing. The truth is that social anxiety can permeate all areas of your life to the point where you no longer know where “you” begin and where your “social anxiety” ends. Here are some of the topics I'm going to cover in this podcast:- Cognitive distortions & how they affect your social anxiety- Triggers and safety behaviors- The different types of social anxiety- Myths we're holding on toAs much as possible, I combine first-hand experience and my own journey with social anxiety with evidence-based studies and research. My hope with this podcast is that you’re empowered to show up comfortably and confidently as you, whatever that looks like, at any moment.

15 sec dance or 30 page paper?
I'm going to walk you through a TikTok video and we're going to dissect it, talk about what happened in it, and what I think should be the main takeaways. I think it's super relevant to social anxiety as there are a few lessons to take away from it.
Here's the link to the TikTok video: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLrdJs19/

Going through the "dreaded low" to get to the high
If you’ve ever made it to the gym at 6 am, you’ll know it’s practically impossible to wake up, but once you walk out of the gym, you feel like a million bucks. In this episode, I want to walk you through the "dreaded low" or the "dreaded zone" so that you can recognize it and push through it.
Because the exciting high is waiting for you on the other side.

What are your Eulogy values?
How do you want people to remember you? This is something I’ve been pondering since the tragic death of a co-worker and her family a few years ago.
And it made me think about David Brooks’ TED talk on working on your Eulogy resume.
In this episode, I want to run you through a simple exercise to get you started and then you can build off on that.

Rude dude on the train
I made my way by train to another city to meet my best friend for a movie date, but on the way there I encountered an unpleasant situation. One that I usually do my best to keep silent on (because of social anxiety). This time I decided to speak up for myself and those around me. I hope this inspires you to do the same if you run into something or someone like this.

Social anxiety meets the standard of beauty
In this episode, I talk about how the concept of beauty, as it stands today, can negatively impact us and awaken Social Anxiety when we least expect it. Yes, it's subjective, and yes it's a sensitive subject, and I'm doing my best to approach it with care.
There are 3 pieces of advice I want you to take away in this episode and hopefully learn to not hold high expectations of yourself when it comes to hitting the mark of "standard beauty" whatever that means.

Are you forgettable? Depends on the path you take
In this episode, I'm sharing an experience I had with feeling "forgettable" and how it messed with my head. I'm also walking you through how to manage yourself if you also have similar thoughts about yourself. I'm introducing you to two paths (secure vs insecure) so that you can pay better attention to which path you're taking whenever you have doubts about yourself.

Super helpful!
Every episode is so different yet so valuable. Honestrox breaks down her social anxiety while also bringing in real-world examples and research to validate what it means to have social anxiety. I especially loved listening to her interview with Joanna, and how she broke down the steps to asking a stranger for something many of us with social anxiety would never dare to! Highly recommend this podcast.
