    #029 Artxiboa: Nuevo Cine Español, animación y Jornadas de Escuelas de Cine en el Festival (*)

    Castellano / Gaztelania / Spanish Carlos Heredero, Harri Fernández y Sonia García López son los tres nuevos investigadores que estos días han disfrutado de la segunda edición de las becas José Ángel Herrero-Velarde. Heredero investiga la relación del certamen con el Nuevo Cine Español de los años 60, Fernández estudia la presencia histórica del cine de animación en el Festival y García López se centra en la influencia de las Jornadas Internacionales de Escuelas de Cine en sucesos como mayo del 68. Carlos Heredero, Harri Fernández eta Sonia García López dira egunotan José Ángel Herrero-Velarde beken bigarren edizioan parte hartu duten hiru ikertzaileak. Zinemaldiak 60ko hamarkadako Espainiako Zinema Berriarekin izan zuen harremana, animazio-zinemaren presentzia historikoa eta Zinema Eskolen Nazioarteko Jardunaldiek 68ko maiatza bezalako gertaeretan izan zuten eragina aztertzen ari dira, hurrenez hurren, Heredero, Fernandez eta García López. Carlos Heredero, Harri Fernández and Sonia García López are the three new researchers who have recently benefited from the second edition for José Ángel Herrero-Velarde grants. Heredero is researching the relationship between the Festival and the New Spanish Cinema of the 1960s, Fernández is studying the historical presence of animated films at the Festival and García López is focusing on the influence of the International Film Schools Conference on events such as May ‘68.

    Joxean Fernández, director de la Filmoteca Vasca y miembro de los comités de dirección y selección del Festival de San Sebastián, es el anfitrión de este episodio especial de Zinemaldia Podcast dedicado a Klasikoak. Bajo esa nueva marca nace una especie de festival de cine clásico extendido en el tiempo y el espacio que agrupa tres programas que ya existían: el ciclo de primavera de la Filmoteca, la retrospectiva clásica del Festival y su sección Klasikoak. Las voces invitadas al podcast son Valeria Camporesi, directora de la Filmoteca Española; Quim Casas y Felipe Cabrerizo, coordinadores de la retrospectiva sobre el poliziesco, el cine policiaco italiano; y el cineasta Montxo Armendáriz, cuya película ‘Tasio’ (1984) acaba de ser restaurada por la Filmoteca Vasca 40 años después de su estreno y tras mostrarse en Cannes Classics inaugurará la sección Klasikoak del Festival. Joxean Fernández, director of the Basque Film Archive and member of the San Sebastian Festival's management and selection committees, hosts this special episode of the Zinemaldia podcast dedicated to Klasikoak. Under this new brand, a kind of classical film festival was born, extended in time and space, bringing together three pre-existing programmes: the Basque Film Arcive’s Spring season, the Festival classic retrospective and its Klasikoak section. Guest voices in the podcast are Valeria Camporesi, director of the Spanish Film Archive; Quim Casas and Felipe Cabrerizo, coordinators of the retrospective on poliziesco (Italian crime films); and filmmaker Montxo Armendáriz, whose film 'Tasio' (1984) has just been restored by the Basque Film Archive after 40 years after its release and will open the festival's Klasikoak section after its screening at Cannes Classics.

Tort trabaja habitualmente con el cineasta Albert Serra y su última colaboración, Tourment sur les îles / Pacifiction (2022), le valió el Premio César a la mejor fotografía. 2023ko irailaren 29an, Donostia Zinemaldiaren 71. edizioan antolatutako hizketaldien barruan, Artur Tort  argazkigintza-eta muntaketa-lanari buruz mintzatu zen Tabakalerako zinema-aretoan. Tortek Albert Serra zinemagilearekin lan egin ohi du, eta biek elkarlanean egindako azken obrak (Tourment sur les îles / Pacifiction, 2022) argazki onenaren César Saria eraman zuen. On 29 September 2023, as part of the film talks of the 71st San Sebastian Festival, Artur Tort spoke at the Tabakalera cinema about his work as a cinematographer and editor. Tort works regularly with filmmaker lbert Serra, and their last collaboration, Tourment sur les îles / Pacifiction (2022), earned him the César Award for Best Cinematography.

    Gaztelania / Castellano / Spanish En el marco de la 71ª edición del Festival de San Sebastián, el 28 de septiembre de 2023 se realizó en la Sala Z de Tabakalera el encuentro Vestida de azul: Memoria y activismo trans en el Festival de 1983. Sirvió para celebrar, por un lado, el 40º aniversario del estreno en el Festival de Vestida de azul (1983), un documental de Antonio Giménez Rico que recoge las experiencias de mujeres trans durante la Transición, y por otro, el estreno de la segunda temporada de la serie Veneno, basada en aquel filme. En la cita participaron el activista Julen Zabala, el guionista Ian de la Rosa, la actriz Lola Rodríguez y Nacha, una de las seis mujeres trans que protagonizaron Vestida de azul. Vestida de azul:  1983ko Zinemaldiko trans oroimena eta aktibismoa izenburua izan zuen topaketa egin zen Donostia Zinemaldiaren 71. Edizioan, Tabakalerako Z aretoan, 2023ko irailaren 28an. Vestida de azul: 1983ko Zinemaldiko trans oroimena eta aktibismoa izenburupean, helburu bikoitza izan zuen ekitaldiak: alde batetik, Zinemaldian estreinatu zen Vestida de azul (1983) filmaren 40. urteurrena ospatzea (Antonio Giménez Ricoren dokumentalak Transizio garaiko emakume transen esperientziak jaso zituen), eta bestetik, film hartan oinarrituta dagoen Veneno telesailaren bigarren denboraldiaren estreinaldia ospatzea. Bertan izan ziren Julen Zabala aktibista, Ian de la Rosa gidoilaria, Lola Rodríguez aktorea eta Nacha, Vestida de azul filmean parte hartu zuten sei trans emakumeetako bat. As part of the 71st edition of the San Sebastian Festival, the meeting Vestida de azul: Trans Memory and activism at the 1983 Festival was held in the Tabakalera’s Z Room . The event celebrated, on the one hand, the 40th anniversary of the premiere at the San Sebastian Festival of Vestida de azul (1983), a documentary by Antonio Giménez Rico that follows the experiences of transgender women during the Spanish Transition and, on the other, the imminent arrival of the second season of the series Veneno, based on said film. The event was attended by activist Julen Zabala, screenwriter Ian de la Rosa, actress Lola Rodríguez and Nacha, one of the six trans women protagonists of Vestida de Azul.

Williams es directora ejecutiva de Creative Diversity Network y lleva más de 30 años trabajando en televisión, cine y teatro, así como en el desarrollo de políticas en las industrias culturales y creativas en general; fue ella quien diseñó los estándares de diversidad del BFI y el proceso de análisis de igualdad del Arts Council England. 2023ko irailaren 26an, Donostia Zinemaldiaren 71. edizioan, Deborah Williamsek ikus-entzunezko sektoreko aniztasunak duen balioaz hitz egin zuen Tabakalerako Z aretoan. Williams Creative Diversity Network taldeko zuzendari exekutiboa da, eta 30 urte baino gehiago daramatza telebistan, zineman eta antzerkigintzan lanean, bai eta kultura- eta sormen-industrietan orokorrean politikak garatzen ere; Williamsek diseinatu zituen BFIren aniztasun-estandarrak eta Arts Council England taldeko berdintasun-analisirako prozesua. On 26 September, as part of the 71st edition of the San Sebastian Festival, Tabakalera’s Z Room hosted a film talk by Deborah Williams on the value of diversity in the audiovisual sector. Williams is Executive Director at Creative Diversity Network and has been working for more than 30 years in television, cinema and the theatre, as well as on policy design in the cultural and creative industries in general; she designed the BFI diversity standards and the equality analysis process at the Arts Council England.

    Gaztelania / Castellano / Spanish El 25 de septiembre de 2023 tuvo lugar en la sala de cine de Tabakalera el encuentro de las y los estudiantes de Nest con Christian Petzold, el cineasta alemán que compitió en la Sección Oficial con Phoenix (2014) y logró el Premio FIPRESCI. En su regreso a San Sebastián en la 71ª edición, no sólo presentó en Perlak la película Roter Himmel / Afire (El cielo rojo) tras ganar el Gran Premio del Jurado en la Berlinale, sino que también ejerció de miembro del Jurado Oficial.  2023ko irailaren 25ean, Nesteko ikasleak Christian Petzoldekin elkartu ziren Tabakalerako zinema-aretoan. Zinemagile germaniarra Phoenix (2014) filmarekin lehiatu zen Sail Ofizialean eta FIPRESCI saria eskuratu zuen. 71. edizioan Donostiara itzuli zen eta Berlinalen Epaimahaiaren Sari Nagusia irabazi zuen Roter Himmel / Afire filma Perlak sailean aurkezteaz gain, epaimahai ofizialeko kide ere izan zen. On 25 September 2023, the Nest students met at the Tabakalera cinema with Christian Petzold, the German filmmaker who was in the Official Selection with Phoenix (2014) and won the FIPRESCI Award. Returning to San Sebastian for the 71st edition, he not only presented his film Red Sky / Afire in the Perlak section, after winning the Grand Jury Prize at the Berlinale. He was also a member of the Official Jury.

Avilés presentó en New Directors su primera película, La camarista / The Chambermaid (2018), y este año ha sido presidenta del jurado del Premio Nest The Mediapro Studio de la 71ª edición del Festival de San Sebastián. 2023ko irailaren 28an, Lila Avilés zinemagile mexikarrak eskola magistrala eskaini zuen Tabakalerako zinema-aretoan. Bertan aurkeztu zuen Horizontes Latinos sailean programatutako Totem, bere bigarren film luzea, aurretik Berlinalen lehiatu zena. Avilések bere lehen filma, La camarista / The Chambermaid (2018), New Directors-en aurkeztu zuen, eta aurten Nest The Mediapro Studio Sariaren epaimahaiburua izan da Donostia Zinemaldiaren 71. edizioan.
