Steps to Healing from Childhood Trauma: 1. Acknowledge and Recognize: - Confront the trauma for what it is. - Avoid minimizing or dismissing the event. - Overcome feelings of guilt or self-blame. 2. Reclaim Control: - Combat feelings of helplessness from childhood. - Avoid making choices based on past pain. - Conquer your pain to control your present. - Let go of old defences to reclaim control. 3. Seek Support and Avoid Isolation: - Resist the instinct to withdraw from others. - Connect with people as part of the healing process. - Maintain relationships and seek support. - Consider joining a support group for trauma survivors. You could send a DM 4. Take Care of Your Health: - Increase stress-coping abilities through good health. - Establish a daily routine for rest, a balanced diet, and regular exercise. - Stay away from alcohol and drugs for long-term well-being. 5. Learn Acceptance and Letting Go: - Understand that acceptance doesn’t mean embracing trauma. - Decide what to do with the trauma—let it rule or let it go. - Letting go is a process, not a magical disappearance. - Stop allowing bad memories to rob your present happiness. 6. Replace Bad Habits with Good Ones: - Identify and break negative habits. - Seek support from a group or therapist. - Learn tools to replace bad habits with positive ones. 7. Be Patient with Yourself - Acknowledge the impact of childhood hurt on emotions and perceptions. - Understand that healing takes time and hard work. - Honor small victories in your recovery. - Celebrate progress, no matter how gradual, in the battle against childhood trauma.
