Months have passed since Stefan went off with Klaus, and it’s now Elena’s 18th birthday. That of course means Caroline is going to throw her a party, even though all Elena wants is to know that Stefan is alive. And while Elena has spent all summer trying to figure out how to get Stefan to come home, Caroline and Tyler have become besties, Jeremy is still seeing the ghosts of girlfriends past, and Damon has been secretly tracking Stefan and Klaus’s trail of bodies. He finally gets a good lead when he and Alaric go to Tennessee where Stefan and Klaus are looking for a werewolf. Luckily, Damon makes it back from the trip to Tennessee just in time to give Elena back her necklace as her birthday gift. But while everyone in Mystic Falls enjoys the party, Stefan kills our fave, Andie Starr, in front of Damon, and Elena finds all of Damon’s research on Stefan. Unfortunately, Damon has to tell her to not get her hopes up because all of the bodies he’s been tracking were left by Stefan, not Klaus. Happy birthday, Elena - your boyfriend is a serial killer. That’s almost enough for Elena to give up all hope, but just as she’s about to go to bed, she gets a call from Stefan (queue A Drop in the Ocean), granting her wish that to know he’s alive.

Because we love you guys so much and wish we could make you all cohosts, we decided to turn the mic over to you and answer all of your questions about The Vampire Diaries! Your questions covered everything from whether we think Damon and Liz would have been a good ship to what we would change about the ending of the show to what we think of Bonnie’s OBVIOUS stunt double in Season One. We even answered some questions about ourselves like what other shows we like and whether we prefer the Twilight soundtrack over the TVD soundtrack. Basically if you asked it, we answered it.

As promised, we’re finally devoting an entire episode to the humanity switch. We look at all of the reasons why characters like Stefan, Damon, and Enzo turn their emotions off and how they eventually get them back on. We also realized that so many iconic moments come from a vampire’s no humanity arc, like Damon killing Matt to get Elena to turn it back on and Caroline burning the letter from Liz (we know you know the TikTok audio: BURN IT). And let’s not forget the vampire that inspired us to even do this episode: Isobel. We still can’t agree on what we make of her, but we do agree on a few things, like every humanity-less vampire will do anything to avoid getting their emotions turned back on.

For every character there is to love on The Vampire Diaries, there are a few to hate. While the list mostly includes annoying villains, useless supernaturals, and guest stars there are two characters in the main cast that are well known for annoying the fan base. You already know we’re talking about Matt Donovan and Elena Gilbert. But is Matt hated because he’s boring or because he’s a terrible boyfriend to Caroline? Is Elena hated because she’s a pick-me or because she switched from Stefan to Damon? In this special episode, we talk about the main reasons why people hate these two and whether we actually hate Matt and Elena.

Before we get into Season 3 in a few weeks, we of course have to recap Season 2! This week, we’re looking back at the main characters, the villains, and all of the great Season 2 side characters. We’re also going to talk about all of the highs of the season, like best performances, favorite songs, best three episode run, and favorite Delena and Stelena moments. We also go over a few of the lows of the season (*cough cough* the Jules/werewolves arc) and what we would do differently if we wrote Season 2. We also wrap up Season 2 like we wrap up every episode and pick the best songs, quotes, and most out of pocket moments of Season 2.
