Ep 3 - The Art of Grief

*** Trigger warnings of death and grief *** In Episode 4 I talk about 'The Art of Grief'. There are so many ways you can experience grief and right now, as the world is on lockdown due to a global pandemic, maybe more people than ever are experiencing the emotional rollercoaster that is grief. I am no stranger to grief; I’ve learned to live with it following the deaths of my husband, brother and father at the age of 16. But grief isn’t just experienced from death. It could be the loss of a job, work or a business, a relationship or a pet. It could be the consequence of not being able to do the things and see the people you love due to lockdown. It could be the feeling of isolation and loneliness; the loss of your lifestyle and routine as you know it and the not being able to be there for others as you once had. We need to start the conversations about the tough and taboo subjects, such as grief and mental health. They will not become less scary by not talking about it. *** Thank you so much for listening today. Ep 2 - What is Mental Health?

In episode 1 of this podcast I’m asking the question what is mental health? It seems a good time to ask this question as I launch the podcast during the 2020 Mental Health Awareness Week. Being aware of mental health is massively important in order to help ourselves and others, but if we don’t know what it is, how can we be aware of it? Let’s start with the basics of mental health and then from there, we can start opening up a host of conversations that will help reduce the stigma surrounding something we all have. Remember, if you want any further information on mental health head over to my website www.modefor.co.uk or www.facebook.com/modefor *** Thank you so much for listening today. Ep 1 - An Introduction to The Three Taboos: Cancer, Grief and Mental Health

Hi There! Welcome to my podcast the Three Taboos: Cancer, Grief and Mental Health where I open up the conversations about the subjects that affect us most, but that equally scare us the most. The things we’d rather hide away from rather than discuss If you don’t know me, I’m Tabby Kerwin and I love to talk about things that matter! I love to host conversations about taboo subjects and just generally encourage people to talk, share and communicate for better mental health and to deal with the challenges that life puts our way. Storytelling is one of the oldest forms of communication so this podcast will be full of stories and experiences of my own and some amazing guests which I hope will help you build resilience, feel hope and find happiness when you need it most. That’s what I’m here to do; support you through the highs and lows. Consider me your coach, confidant, champion and cheerleader! We all have mental health with 1 in 4 of us experiencing mental ill health at any one time. We will all experience grief and one in two of us will be affected by cancer, so why do we still find these subjects so hard to talk about? My life is full of personal experiences of all three of these things and I’m here to tell you that even when times are at their toughest, we can be positive, we can smile, we can feel happiness and by talking and sharing we can get through pretty much anything together. I’ve learned that from first-hand experience. This is one of the main reasons why I wrote my book The Three Taboos: Cancer, Grief and Mental Health to share my experiences in order to support you and to help you open up and talk about the things that both affect us most and the things that we find hardest to talk about. If you haven’t read the book yet, you can find out more details at www.modefor.co.uk and if you want to join in the conversations about taboo subjects then why not join my Facebook community ‘The Three Taboos’ I am so grateful to all of you that take the time to listen to this podcast and of course, to the amazing people that have joined me on it to talk about really important subjects and share their personal experiences in an open, honest and light way. I hope you enjoy it and will join in the conversations. If you do enjoy it, don’t forget to subscribe and leave a review. Thank you and chat soon. Much Love Tabby xxx
