Health For Mzansi Podcast

Festive is synonymous with celebration and a time of gratitude. However, unfortunately, it is also a time when we see an increase in violence against women and children. Joining the discussion, we have Michael Benevolent Masina from the TEARS Foundation. We discuss systematic challenges that are not conducive to the victim, the distribution of sound information regarding gender-based violence, factors that cause an increase in violence during the festive time and referral to services that can assist.

Michael Benevolent Masina is a 23-year-old registered specialist wellness counsellor and senior intervention specialist, currently working with the TEARS Foundation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology & English Literature from the North-West University, as well as a BSc. Honours degree in Psychology from the University of Johannesburg.
