Members Reviews: Not as emotionally engaging as Sonata for Scoundrel, but very good I liked this book and I'm rating five stars because I would read it again. The story line is interesting, including a bit of a criminal element with the hero trying to catch the heroine's uncle as a blackmailer and thief. The heroine's talent as a violinist is beautfully described and portrayed. Aunt Agatha is a lively and endearing character who adds an element of humor. This book is not as emotionally engaging as Sonata for a Scoundrel, but it's still very well written and a solid addition to Lawson's "Music of the Heart" series. Mistress of Melody I skipped all the love making parts, but other than that I enjoyed the story the h new what she wanted and tried her best to achieve it, at the same time looking out for her sister who needed her. A couple of nits Didn't gossip columns of the time use initials rather than full names? Spoiler Alert: surely it took more than a letter to assume guardianship. What about probate proceedings? Great follow-up to Sonata for a Scoundrel If you enjoyed the first book in this series, you will enjoy this one too. I would have preferred a longer story (only a bit over 250 pages) but it's very well written, a great story, and hardly any typos. Excellent book. I would have given it 5 stars if it was longer (at least 350) and had more mystery to it than it did, but it's still an awesome book that I recommend, and it's definitely worth every penny. Anthea Lawson titles - I never pass up.
