The "Normal" Life of a Gay Conservative in America

The "Normal" Life of a Gay Conservative in America

One of my favorite people in the whole world, a childhood friend of mine nicknamed “Bagels” joins me today for real talk about being a gay, conservative millennial in America.

We popped his podcast cherry with this conversation. Hopefully we don’t ruin his social life by airing it...

But Bagels embodies a demographic that confuses the heck out of liberals. He’s a millennial. He’s gay. And he’s a conservative libertarian.

In this episode, we talk about what it was like for us growing up as apolitical high school kids living in the middle of nowhere in New Hampshire.

We talk about Bagels’ journey to becoming a fiscally conservative and socially liberal adult. And we talk about being a conservative in Boston’s extremely liberal gay community.

In social situations that delve into political discussion, Bagels is always honest about his views.

Before the 2016 election, some members of Boston’s gay community would belittle his conservative stance. They were blinded by the wildly incorrect poll estimates that indicated Hillary Clinton was White House bound.

After Trump won, people became very hostile and treated Bagels like he was on the wrong side of the tracks.

We talk about how pretty much all of Bagels’ interaction with the broader gay community on political issues has focused on social issues. Rarely do fiscal issues come up, he says.

If you want a fresh perspective on the “normal” life of a gay conservative in America, listen to this podcast!

Celebrity Insider Shares Open Secret of Hollywood Hypocrisy in Wake of Harvey Weinstein Scandal

Celebrity Insider Shares Open Secret of Hollywood Hypocrisy in Wake of Harvey Weinstein Scandal

Welcome back to the podcast! This is the kickoff to Season 2.

It’s been a few weeks… a few months… since we’ve published an episode. That’s because I’ve been heads down finishing the final manuscript for my next book, which hits bookstores early next year. I can’t wait to tell you more about it! But I have to. Stay tuned…

So, today’s episode tackles an incredible story that keeps unfolding. And that story is Harvey Weinstein being accused by some of the top actresses in the world (think Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Rose McGowan, etc.) for making unwanted sexual advances, sexual assault and even rape.

The predatory behavior from producers and casting directors in Hollywood is finally getting the spotlight thanks to the Weinstein scandal. Unfortunately it’s not a new story.

It’s an open secret in Hollywood that isn’t so secret anymore. New accusations of sexual harassment, assault and even rape that have happened repeatedly over decades are opening up a larger discussion about the horrific behavior in Hollywood.

Our guest today, Liam McNeill, is an actor based in Los Angeles who has starred in commercials and movies. He’s a conservative in Hollywood and has observed the reaction to the Weinstein scandal. He verifies that colleagues have confided in him stories of sexual harassment or worse.

And it’s not just the women in Hollywood. Both male and female actors, even child actors, have been propositioned to do things they don’t want to do by people in powerful positions. Yet the issue just gets swept under the rug.

Why is it that when a scandal like this happens, the leftist Hollywood elite stay silent? We would expect them to be shouting from the rooftops about this, but instead we hear nothing. Or we hear celebrities blame the women who are coming forward against Weinstein for what happened to them.

Actors and actresses love to lecture us about who we should vote for, how we should act, positioning themselves as the moral standard for Americans. Yet these same actors are getting away with or actively turning a blind eye to rape and sexual assault in Hollywood.

How can a conservative survive in Hollywood? And how do we expose this larger issue of sexual abuse and violence against young actors, including children?

Debate: What’s the Future of Libertarianism? I GGW Ep. 004 with Austin Petersen

Debate: What’s the Future of Libertarianism? I GGW Ep. 004 with Austin Petersen

Hello poppets! I’m so excited about to share with you this week’s episode.

But first, y’all need to know that the schedule for episode releases moving forward is Thursdays - so please subscribe on iTunes, Google Play or Soundcloud to ensure you get the latest episode when it comes out. Thanks!

Ok, so I consider myself a “small l” libertarian. What that means is, on most issues I lean libertarian but I’m not a card-carrying member of the Libertarian Party.

As purveyor of TheLibertarianChick.com, my website, I’ve gotten so much hate over the years from fellow libertarians because I’m “not libertarian enough.”

I have a lot of issues with the Libertarian Party, and I brought up a lot of those issues with my guest for this week’s episode.

Austin Petersen ran for president in 2016 as a candidate for the Libertarian Party. In this episode, we debate the future of the Libertarian Party and libertarianism, and Austin breaks some news - a Government Gone Wild podcast exclusive!

Gay Conservative Takes on White House Press | GGW Ep. 003 with Lucian Wintrich

Gay Conservative Takes on White House Press | GGW Ep. 003 with Lucian Wintrich

Hello my snowflakes! I am so pumped up about this episode. Today we're talking about diversity within the conservative and libertarian movements.

Now, Democrats will have you believe that they are the de facto party for anyone who is not a white, straight male. They think that they have the right to the female vote, the black vote, the Hispanic vote.

But, as a young libertarian myself, I have noticed an increase in young, diverse people exploring the ideas of limited government, and warming up to those ideas. Of course, that's not the narrative the left is perpetuating.

My guest today is helping dispel that narrative - Lucian Wintrich. He's the left's worst nightmare. He's the artist behind the "Twinks for Trump" and, on paper, everything that a liberal should be. We talk about his college experience, political upbringing, diversity in the conservative and libertarian movements, and his work as a White House correspondent for the Gateway Pundit.

This week I'm diving into the topic of our fractured political parties - the deep divides within the Democractic Party and Republican Party. I've brought on political analyst Harlan Hill to discuss the issue, as well as the differences - and similarities - of the populist movements surrounding President Donald Trump and Sen. Bernie Sanders. You don't want to miss this episode!
