The Reset Rebel meets DJ Fat Tony

Fat Tony – real name Tony Marnach – went from living on a London council estate to best mate of Kate Moss and Boy George, and one of the party scene’s most notoriously hedonistic DJs.

Since commencing his sober 17 years ago, he has forged a career as fashion’s go-to DJ and an LGBTQ+ activist.

His new memoir, I Don’t Take Requests, documents his journey from difficult beginnings to kingpin of the 80s and 90s club scene, his drug addiction, HIV diagnosis, rehab and recovery.

In todays episode, ahead of his Ibiza opening gig at Pikes party, Back to Mine, he sits down with Jo Youle at the Hub Ibiza studios to reveal his story from Love & recently getting engaged in NYC to his Fiance Stavros to casting h8is mind back to his glory days at Paradise garage, Studio 54 and the Loft in NYC when he used to play and party on the circuit.

The Reset Rebel meets film director and musician Kyan

What does it mean to be truely free?

In todays podcast we meet Kyan, a film director and musician, who made a film called "The Last Free Man on Earth," about Alex. A man who has lived in a cave for the past 9 years in Punta Galera.

In search of enlightenment, the platinum-selling record producer left his hedonistic life behind and through the best part of a decade he has learned to live life in  a much more rustic fashion in the thick of things down south.

Kyan got stuck in Ibiza in lockdown and decided to stay a little longer and make his very first film after meeting Alex, taking almost 2 years to study and shoot his new friend over many sessions.

The film recently debuted at the Ibiza Cine Fest in santa Eulalia and Jo goes to meet Kyan after watching it at his studio in Cala Llonga for todays conversation.

The Reset Rebel meets Marine Biologist and National Geographic Explorer Manu San Felix

The Reset Rebel meets Marine Biologist and National Geographic Explorer Manu San Felix

Last year I got to meet Manu San Felix  - Oceanographer and videographer for National Geographic.

Manu campaigns heavily for the one thing that may just save our climate in the Balearics - The Posidonia.

Our huge acres of sea grass provide a carbon sink which sucks the nasties out of our atmosphere and absorb and hold them.

Protecting them is of paramount importance as you heard in our EP with ambient musician @coco_francavilla. They are the answer to so many issues we face as an island that depends heavily on tourism and Manu runs @vellmari_formentera and every year they replant the beds and try to restore them where possible.

In this weeks episode we talk about that process, why we have to educate people to respect the ancient sea beds that are unique to ours seas and we hear much of his incredible storytelling on expeditions that he has been on for National Geographic as an ambassador for @natgeopristineseas and how he became a marine biologist and fell in love with our islands.
