how to be a GIRL'S GIRL

how to be a GIRL'S GIRL

Being a girl's girl means being part of a powerful alliance that actively works against our societal conditioning to compete with each other and tear one another down. Instead, we celebrate femininity and female unity in all its forms. I openly admit that I once struggled with internalized misogyny and was a 'pick me girl' - someone who deliberately puts down other women or diminishes their value. However, I've grown and transformed, making empowering other women my entire BRAND. If I can make this journey; anyone can grow, empower themselves, and uplift other women.

This episode is dedicated to inspiring everyone to embrace their own unique femininity and to support and celebrate the women around them. We'll dive deep into what it means to be a true girl's girl, sharing personal stories, insights, and how I overcame internalized misogyny and cultivated genuine, supportive relationships with other women.

    Topics:

The story of how I began to DECONSTRUCT my internalized misogyny
I used to be a pick me girl… WHY?
    5 signs someone IS a girl’s girl
5 signs someone is NOT a girl’s girl

    friendship BREAKUPS 101

    friendship BREAKUPS 101

Friendship breakups can be more painful than romantic breakups because women's friendships often serve as the emotional foundations of our lives. Despite how devastating these breakups can be, there is limited media coverage addressing this topic.

As we change and evolve, our friendships may no longer fit who we have become. If you're experiencing a friendship breakup, it's okay to feel hurt and take time to heal. Just try to remain open to the possibility that this ending may make room for the right people to enter your life. In time, you may even find yourself feeling grateful for the lessons learned from the past friendship.

    TOPICS

(4:30-11:00) Personal experiences with growing apart from friends, mean girls, toxic friends, betrayal
(11:00-13:01) Lessons learned from past friendships
    (13:09-15:55) 7 signs she’s not your friend
(16:00-19:05) How to break up with a friend in a mature and respectful way
(19:10-26:25) How to cope with a friendship breakup

    Cited Statistics:

A 2019 study published in the journal Hormones and Behavior found that women who have close female friendships have lower levels of stress and higher levels of oxytocin, a hormone associated with bonding and stress relief.
A 2022 study published in the journal Social Science & Medicine found that older women who have close female friendships are less likely to experience cognitive decline and are more likely to maintain their independence as they age.
A 2023 study published in the journal Developmental Psychology found that adolescent girls who have close female friendships are more likely to have better academic outcomes and are less likely to engage in risky behaviors.

    why GOSSIP is GOOD

    why GOSSIP is GOOD

EP029: Many people assume gossip is inherently bad - something to feel guilty about. But I disagree. I don't think gossip is wrong in itself. In fact, I believe the stigma around gossip exists to serve the interests of those in power by trying to undermine communication and solidarity among marginalized groups, especially women.
Think about it - when was the last time you heard the term "gossip" used to describe MEN talking? The word gossip is almost always applied exclusively to conversations between women. And I don't think that negative connotation is an accident.
On this episode, we're going to make a case for why women shouldn't feel guilty about gossiping. We'll break it down into 5 key reasons why gossip among women can actually be a positive force - everything from building social bonds to sharing important information that protects community interests including statistics and history. So get ready to rethink your assumptions:)
    Topics:
⁃  Why gossip helps us establish our beliefs
⁃  Gossip helps us process and learn
      ⁃  The importance of intention
⁃  Why gossip is specifically good for women
⁃  The countless proof throughout history and throughout my personal life
⁃  Gossiping is a form of activism
