LETTERS AGAINST ISOLATION Episode 7: “Symptoms of Cyberspace” with Fleming Mason interviewed by Constance Leterre.

Artist Statement:

Fleming Mason is a London-based interdisciplinary artist whose work predominantly covers sculpture, sound, installation, and conceptual practices. His current studies are engaged with what he titles Inverse Anthropologies; that is, the attempt to look outside the subject, towards that which creates them (pertaining that bodies produce their environments as environments produce them). Inverse Anthropologies reflects this effort to understand human behaviour from a perspective where the body is latent; the attempt to approach the entity from the outside in. Recent works include sculptural investigations into what he calls Deep Time - the prehistoric and “hyper-futures”. By learning from or “placing oneself into” these different forms of time, we might be able to more accurately understand the present. He is currently developing a new series of works for his first solo exhibition, represented by The Who Gallery.
