My Hopeful Journey: From Writer to Author James E.B. Mungall

This is the introduction to our second Protagonist, Awyn.

I read Chapter 1 of my YA Fantasy Novel, Antiphon: Fire and Stone.

Greetings and Welcome to My Hopeful Journey: From Writer to Author. My name is James Mungall and ever since I was a young child, I enjoyed making up stories of adventure, war, heroism, and all the things we tend to love. I’ve written a book, Antiphon: Fire and Stone, revised that book, and now I’m interested in getting that book published to share with you all and hopefully earn a little bit for the trouble. This is going to be a place where I share a bit about my journey going from Writer to Author, the story itself--Antiphon: Fire and Stone, subsequent tales in my Stygian Gate Cycle, and other projects I’m working on or brainstorming.

Antiphon: Fire and Stone is a Young Adult Fantasy that follows two supernaturally powered young men, both immigrants, both exceptional, but different in that one has been cast out of his home and country as a potential threat, and the other lauded by his hometown as a potential hero. Both are sent to the Academy of Trista where they are to learn how to control their respective powers and use them to defend their church and serve their kingdom. However, both young men soon find themselves in the midst of a secret war between the monks of their school and the mages of a foreign cult. As they try to figure out what to do, they threaten to not only lose themselves, but destroy their friendships and those who’ve sworn to help them.
