Ep 22. "We're Out!" / feat. Jon Laurson

Ep 22. "We're Out!" / feat. Jon Laurson

Jon and I go way back to my early college days where I did not know what I wanted from life and where it would take me.

But needless to say I am fortunate that we crossed paths and he brought me into the Ranger Challenge Group at Utah State University (USU) because it shaped my decision to eventually joined the services myself much later on.

We both take time to share the Highs and Lows of our service to the country and ultimately what lead us to get out when we did. It was great to find these common threads and unfortunately the tune of tale isn't too uncommon anymore.

But we also discuss from the negative that was present in our respective organizations, what we also learn from those times as well. And it those decisions and the hardworking and honor in our time in service that has further shaped who we are today

Episode 21: Stand Your Ground w/Damian Bunting

Episode 21: Stand Your Ground w/Damian Bunting

Damian served in the Air Force between roughly '96-'01. He had the amazing experience of being in the first crews to work on and maintain our Stealth Bomber before the public ever knew of its existence! How awesome!
    -
From all generations of service men and women, there are experiences and lessons that should be discussed and shared. It was amazing to hear Damian's journey through life, what brought him into the service, what he learned while in, and what he took away and into his life afterwards.
I hope that this segment resonants with all listeners! There were precious nuggets of wisdom dropped from Damian's stealth bomber, haha.

Episode 18: Carbs are friends not...the enemy

Episode 18: Carbs are friends not...the enemy

The quick down and dirty and gritty on why Carbs as a macronutrient is Key to utilize as a primary energy source for life. Carbs get labeled as bad or the reason for someone being fat/de-conditioned.  The bigger reason may ben that someone is eating the wrong things in either in excess or not enough. When we don't eat enough our body goes into survival mode and will feed off the ready fuel sources (fat comes first at lower energy expenditure levels, aka fat burner mode). However this will be different than doing Intermittent fasting (save that for another episode). I.F. Yes your naturally in a deficit BUT you still need to be eating enough maintenance calories/macros when in the eating window

Episode 17: Life Priorities + Balance

Episode 17: Life Priorities + Balance

Sometimes we try to do too much and maybe we bite off more than we can chew. This can be a double-edged sword. It can swing and help us cut through adversity, or it can swing back and hurt us or those close to us. When working towards whatever our goals or priorities are we HAVE to find balance and know when it's time to cut some of the fat off.

Just like fitness./health everything is a choice. It's on every individual to decide for themselves what they want. You want to lose weight, burn fat, get stronger, run faster, jump higher....than you need to do the work and work towards those goals as progressively and efficiently as possible. Don't waste your efforts; work hard, but work smart (or learn along the way)
