Travel is about being able to relate to the world around you, not just about taking pretty pictures for social media. It is about comprehending life outside of our own and learning from others.

I'm Frances, a university student who has visited, resided, and pursued her education abroad. I wanted to share my experiences with you in the hopes that you would discover how similar our travel and life experiences are, no matter where we were raised.

Episode 3. From the Lebanese Perspective

Episode 3. From the Lebanese Perspective

Episode 3. Today we are here joined Tarek Mrad, host of Heston West Big Local Podcast in the England.

Tarek discusses his cultural experiences as a Lebanese person and how he manages to live independently in a society where having a physical disability can make daily living challenging or unwelcome. Being disabled in a Third World country is extremely difficult because there is no financial assistance from the government and little help for those with physical disabilities. When Tarek was younger, his family moved to England, and they have since lived there. Tarek also talks about how his mother opened her own Lebanese restaurant in England and shares their traditional foods. Tarek discusses his positive and negative experiences with being Lebanese as well as how he has continued to live his best life.

    Episode 2. Fears of Travelling

    Episode 2. Fears of Travelling

Just like life, we have something we fear, and travelling can be one of those fears, and that's okay! We are all human, but we need to challenge our fears, whether it's going to another country because you've never been outside of your own country, or it could be travelling for the first time in your life, because you've never been on a plane, or fear of travelling to another part of the world that doesn't speak the same language as you.

Fear can come in many different shapes and forms, but you have to take a leap of faith, take a jump and challenge yourself to do better, to create better, to make yourself a better individual. Life is short, so let's make it count. Even as an experienced traveler like myself, I always have fears but, I believe in myself, because I don't want to be stuck in the same place. I want to rise above and achieve what I want in life.

    Episode 1. What is travel?

    Episode 1. What is travel?

Is travel really about sitting on the beach and drinking a martini? Or taking a picture and uploading it onto social media?

You tell me what you think it means, for me, personally, it means being able to understand people from different societies, how they think, how they feel, how they see the world around them. Remember no one perfect, and we all have different experiences of life, but we can learn from each other to create a better understanding of our world, and of each other.

Travel is about appreciating our world, its people and societies (other than our own), we don't have to agree with each other but, let's respect one another. Let’s love the world around us!
