Fraud inside the academy has ballooned as the government has crowded out traditional sources of funding publishing efforts by university academics. We have discussed at length about the U.S. government's involvement in propagating its policy rhetoric on Climate Change by funding grants on climate change subject. This causes a self-propagating loop where research drives policy and then policy drives research tailored to getting grant money that comports with said policy. Now there are cracks beginning to show in the collective ediface of knowledge and people are worried. A famous Harvard University president, Caludine Gay, was outed very publicly about plagerism in research that she claimed as her own. These and other instances are shining a brighter light on the subject.

Should Donald Trump and all other Presidents be given immunity to carry out their job as President of the United States. Well, this was Richard Nixon's argument, "If the President does it, it's not against the law." Of course in a free society this is ridiculous and likely SCOTUS will not deviate from historical norms and agree with Donald Trump. That said, the political persecution of Trump is unprecedented and I do think the court is struggling with the lawfare that is being used against the former President.

When I was a kid there was insurance commercial (I think) that would have in its tagline, "Don't mess with Mother Nature". Whatever happened to the humility embeded in this statement. It seems like our government and our institutions is loaded with people who who exibit on hubris, with absolutely no sign of himility. The UAE governement of has been attempting to improve rainfall because it's too hot there. Well now this policy has caused billions of dollars worth of damage. Whose going to pay for it? The people who live in Dubai and other cities in UAE. The government breaks your leg and buys you a crutch. Another great example in today's episode.

Even after the Twitter files, the government is still trying to limit free speech to better control the narrative and manipulate Americans. The constant drum beat from government official and media pundits about the level of misinformation and disinformation coming from Facebook, X and Tik Tik is laughable. The overwhelming level of of misinformation and disinformation is coming from government itself. Now lawyers for the government are arguing for limits on FREE SPEECH for national security reasons. If it wasn't so serious a question, I will be letting out a big 'ol belly laugh. But this is serious stuff and I hope that SCOTUS doesn't do its normal side step when national security becomes the discussion.

Almost everyone in America senses that something is very wrong with our government, markets, the rule of law and half dozen other features of society. What's not known by most is the root cause of all of this chaos, The Federal Reserve System of these United States of America. I know what your thinking, but Seth it has to be more complicated than that? "Taxation is theft" is not just something people say to shock their fellow citizens. It's an argument put forth by liberty loving people that is logically rooted in property rights, the foundation of ALL individual rights. Unfortunately, from the very moment of the founding of this once great union, there has been a counter-revolutionary power at work to centralize the federal nature of our government to make it a republic in the way France is a republic. Direct taxation is an afront to the existence of individual liberty, however we have become accustomed to living with it and accepting it as part of the republic's existence. There is NO reasonable argument that involves the concept of liberty that leads to an understanding of why a national (far away) government would need to have a close financial relationship with its citizens other than that of the need to extort them at the expense of their individual liberty, property (economic freedom). Confession Day comes from the concept that we ALL violate our own 5th Amendment protection against self-incrimination by voluntarily giving incriminating evidence about our finances that could lead to our prosecution if we became a target of the Federal Government.
