The lived experience podcast is about sharing real people's stories of lived experiences on a large range of mental health topics. As a child of a single mother with BiPolar, I wanted to create interviews that would fill the content gap around this subject and lesser-known issues that are covered in the current mental health awareness movement. Mental health awareness and advocacy go far beyond depression and anxiety. I hope these discussions shine a lot on issues you may not be aware of or even inform you that you are not alone. So glad this exists
As someone who grew up with a parent who’s bipolar type 1 and tried navigating the health care system in Australia I can relate so much to other peoples stories. It’s somewhat comforting and healing to know I wasn’t the only one and people had similar struggles and the ways they’ve managed it. But also the work this podcast does at raising awareness but pushing for so much more than that which is what we need
Shining The Spotlight
What an inspiring effort to be having real conversations with real people, sharing wisdom and lived experience to shine the spotlight and raise awareness towards rippling the change that is needed. Thank you for your courage, dedication, and allowing us to hear these powerful stories. Keep going!
Belinda and Joel disappointed
It’s an opinion that someone who has the look can weaponise blah blah. But you have lost some respect I had during the episode. So what about the people that don’t have the look. Yet are intelligent interesting committed blah blah. Your argument is immature and I would like to be a fly on the wall in 25 years to your views then.
Edit
Ok on reflection my review wasn’t balanced. It did not express in the early part of this interview which was in line with most of your podcast. Interesting and supportive. I believe views expressed during some of this IV can perpetuate imbalance of power and coercion in the work place and wider community. It is Belinda I am curious to see her view in 25 years.
