Big Sister Hotline: Episode 43, Feat. DANI ADRIANA

Big Sister Hotline: Episode 43, Feat. DANI ADRIANA

This week’s episode features the sensational DANI ADRIANA, a noted body positivity and fat liberation activist living in far North Queensland. Dani has toured workshops around the world speaking about mental health and fat liberation, and she joined me for a wonderfully insightful conversation about bodies, size inclusivity and the evolution of one’s own activism. I had so many lightbulb moments during this, and you will too!

From Little Sisters, we answered questions about how to deal with breakups, even when we’ve initiated them; and whether or not a partner who was formerly emotionally abusive to you can ever be forgiven.

Big Sister Hotline: Episode 42, Feat. NEVO ZISIN

Big Sister Hotline: Episode 42, Feat. NEVO ZISIN

I was so pleased to welcome someone I admire enormously and am also proud to call friend onto the Hotline this week. NEVO ZISIN is a non-binary, Jewish queer writer who has authored two books (Finding Nevo and the forthcoming The Pronoun Lowdown). They facilitate educational workshops educating workplaces and organisations about gender and trans inclusivity, and we talked at length about how cis people can be allies not just in action but also thinking and language usage. This was such an illuminating and generous conversation, and I’m grateful to Nevo for taking the time to share these views.

From Little Sisters, we answered questions about how to deal with bigotry and intolerance in your family members (important ahead of seasonal celebrations!); how to extricate yourself from toxic friendships; and how to balance the privacy of your loved ones when your work and politics are very public.

Big Sister Hotline: Episode 41, Feat. JILL STARK

Big Sister Hotline: Episode 41, Feat. JILL STARK

This week, I’m joined by my good friend JILL STARK to talk about anxiety, lockdown and some of the tools we can use to ground us when we’re feeling fizzy brained. Jill’s first book, “High Sobriety” was about the year she spent sober. She has since become sober again, and we talk about what this means for a person’s mental health and some of the emotional challenges that come with committing to and maintaining sobriety. It gave me a lot to think about in terms of my own relationship to alcohol, and I know it will resonate strongly with listeners!

From little sisters, we answer questions about how to get back into dating without losing yourself in a prospective partner; what to do when the person you’ve been developing intimacy with decides to soft ghost you and insist it’s only ‘casual’; and how to react when a close friend becomes ‘the other woman’.

Big Sister Hotline: Episode 40, Feat. ALEXANDRA COLLIER

Big Sister Hotline: Episode 40, Feat. ALEXANDRA COLLIER

I had an excellent conversation this week with ALEXANDRA COLLIER, a writer, theatre maker and sole mother by choice. Ally is one of the growing number of women choosing to become sole mothers through sperm donorship. She joined me to talk about motherhood, choices, the narratives we set for our own lives and the beauty we find in them, and why we need to separate maternal desires from our romantic ones.

From little sisters, we answer questions about always being considered the casual FWB and never the girlfriend; the feminist politics of cosmetic surgery and whether we should hide it from our friends; and how to rebuild a life and individual identity when you’ve spent decades in a relationship.

al1982 ,

The best podcast I’ve ever listened to.

I love this! Clementine is always on point and is very knowledgeable. This is essential listening for any woman who needs a confidence boost or encouragement to end a dead-end relationship.

What every man and woman needs

Do you feel like you keep being taken advantage of? Do you feel like people aren’t respecting you, or you aren’t fully respecting yourself? This podcast will help you to TAKE THE POWER BACK!! Extremely thought-provoking. Clementine and her guests speak truth if you care to truly LISTEN and deeply reflect on the relevant and controversial topics in these intelligent conversations. I urge men and women to listen, and really think about your own biases, privilege, opinions and circumstances, and to question, how can I make changes to ensure the world is a better place myself, and everyone else?

Literal human excrement in the form of words

Just poop in your hands and ram it into your ear holes to achieve the same effect as listening to this absolute garbage podcast 🗑
