EP 175: Cuts for Change: How Hair Aid Breaks the Poverty Cycle

EP 175: Cuts for Change: How Hair Aid Breaks the Poverty Cycle

Hair Aid is an extraordinary organization dedicated to providing livelihood skills training to women recused from the sex trade, drug lords and those who live in critical poverty, and hair cutting skills. Once trained, the ladies can earn money, and create a pathway out of poverty. In Australia Hair Aid conducts Community Cuts events, providing free haircuts to those who need a hand up.
Hair Aid now has seven international projects a year, and  20+ hairdressers at a time come on each project. Training can be under a tree or on a basketball court – wherever space and people are willing to learn. In five days, the locals learn five basic cuts. With their newfound skills and also the hair-cutting kits donated through Hair Aid, the locals can go on to open their own businesses – even on the side of a road – to start earning money to feed their children. To date, Hair Aid has trained over 6700+ people.

Listen to Episode 175 of The Colour Kristina Talks Podcast to learn  all the amazing things the Australian-based charity Hair Aid is doing both internationally and within Australian communities, and why you need to get involved.

EP 173: What is Cinnamon Haircolour? Deciphering trends the easy way…

EP 173: What is Cinnamon Haircolour? Deciphering trends the easy way…

Cinnamon Hair Colour draws inspiration from the warm, spicy tones of cinnamon. Imagine the rich, deep, warm hues of cinnamon sticks – a mix of red, brown, and subtle golden undertones. This colour trend is all about bringing a natural, warm, and inviting look that’s perfect for those looking to add a bit of spice to their hair without going too bold.
I’m excited about this trend because it’s a fantastic option for brunettes and blondes who want to add warmth and richness to their hair. It's a perfect blend of subtlety and boldness that works beautifully with many skin tones, styles and hair lengths.
Cinnamon is low-maintenance and highly suitable for budget-conscious salon clients during this cost-of-living crisis.
Get ready to learn about this versatile, rich hue and how you can create this stunning look for your clients. Listen to EP 173 of the Colour Kristina Talks Podcast for Hairdressers and Salon Owners.

Carly Australia ,

Star rating: 15,000!

I don’t even know where to begin. Every. Single. Episode. Is wonderful and I get so much from them. Sometimes, Kristina interviews someone that I adore and I get so excited getting to hear what they have to say. Other times, she interviews someone I’ve never heard of and I think, ‘how did I not know about this person before!’ and I proceed to try to find out all that I can about them and their work. My confidence in my craft is growing because these podcasts are reinforcing and increasing my knowledge about hairdressing, running a business and social media. I listen to them on my way to work and arrive full of beans and with even more love for what I do. They seriously bring a smile to my face. Kristina’s manner is just so friendly, open and relaxed, and her interviews are thorough, informative and inspiring. These kept me going during the last lockdown (Melbourne) and continue to make my every day brighter than it would otherwise be. I am so grateful for Kristina and her many wonderful guests. 15,000 stars!!!

Thank you so much for such an amazing podcast, absolutely love listening along!

Congratulations

Loved Episode 25. You have a very calm way of explaining how to deal with colour corrections. It was always something a bit daunting, but knowing that with a calm attitude, the right tools and of course the trusty colour wheel, it is a less stressful service. My mind always clicks to 5,6,7,8 when thinking of my reds. 🥰🤎❤️🧡💛
I also thoroughly enjoyed Episode 49 and have noted down the formulas ready to knock out some awesome lowlights.
All the best for the big Ep50. Can’t wait.
Cheers from
Colourful Carolyn🥰
