The iFanboy.com Comic Book Podcast is a weekly talk show all about the best new current comic book releases. Lifelong friends, Conor Kilpatrick and Josh Flanagan talk about what they loved and (sometimes) hated in the current weekly books, from publishers like Marvel, DC, Image Comics, Dark Horse Comics, BOOM! Studios, IDW, Aftershock, Valiant, and more. The aim is to have a fun time, some laughs, but to also really understand what makes comic books work and what doesn’t, and trying to understand the craft of this great, often under appreciated art form. Sometimes they agree, and sometimes… they don’t. With decades of experience talking about comics, interacting with comic book professionals, this is all about the love of an art form. I fanboy
Having read comics for close to 40 it's great to get an enthusiastic over view of the world of comics. I really don't think there has ever been such a volume of top quality comics being produced as right now and these guys help to find more of it and navigate you around some of the lesser stuff. I listen every week whilst driving my tractor here in Australia and it makes me feel connected to the comic world which when your 5 hours drive to a comic shop is a great feeling so thanks guys. On a side note I met Howard Chaykin at the weekend in Brisbane at a con and boy can he swear. Likes his genatalia too. Great guy. We spoke for almost an hour. He only got paid $500 for his Star Wars poster.
Best Comic Book Discussions
I've been reading comics for 34 years and listening to this pod since 2006...these are some of my favourite podcast 'friends' 😏 Having tried over 20 comic book podcasts, I feel this is the most entertaining and knowledgeable of all. I identify as a nerd but have never had any hardcore comic book friends, this is the closest thing to it!
Zero Effort or Entertainment
I've been listening to the show (on and off) for a more than a decade now. Josh and Conor sound like the don’t want to do it anymore. It’s boring and repetitive. Try Comic Book Club instead. That’s genuinely fun.
