On Sunday, February 4th, 2024, Samantha Murphy left her house to go for a run, she has never been seen again. Over a month has passed, and it seems we are no closer to finding out what happened to Sam. In this short 6-part series, we look into some of the circumstances surrounding the case and talk to those people on the ground who are searching for Sam. We speak to experts about some of the theories in the case, from ex-police detectives to experts in telecommunications tracing, bush tracking, and we investigate some of the other theories that have been brought forward in the case. The first episode is out now on our Apple Podcast subscription, and then on Monday March 11.

Sound and content quality is poor

I was expecting better things. The interviews are pure speculation and bad sound quality.

Missing pieces

So a young guy goes out one night makes sure he is filmed doing drugs and drinking to excess then instead of being passed out until 3pm the next day he is up early murders a random runner who is running with her phone in a full and heavy phone wallet instead of using her Apple Watch for what it was designed. This guy manages in his hung over drug affected state to murder and disappear a body without a trace and throw the phone into a dam near a road where it is early found because husband was quick to point out his wife had her phone even though in the last photo in her running gear she was not carrying a bulky phone.. nobody takes a phone like that in a long run!! Meanwhile missing women just so happens to have had profession photos taken recently which are being used to plaster her face all over media.. I guess if I knew I was going to disappear I would want my best photo to be used too. This whole case does not add up.
Disappointing and missing the local voice
15 June
As a person living within a km of the area, I’m actually shocked at how poorly this has been put together so far and has me questioning the value of these podcasts. References to an attack “in the area” a year earlier are relevant but not once has it been mentioned it was in another town over half an hour away. That’s important. Reference to the police clearly “knowing more”, but no reference to the clear incompetence of daily statements saying there were “no suspicious circumstances in Sam’s disappearance”, the FACT she was missing was suspicious. Locals were in fear but the police said there was no reason to change your activity and a female running alone in the forest was no issue. The also reference the place “Clear Mountain” incorrectly in which the next sentence is correctly stated as “Mount Clear”. Far too many mentions of the accused parents property being in the vicinity of the alleged running path, yet no route has been published. Based on the comment of the early attack being near by, the alleged man’s property was “nearby” but again in another town. Just as Sam’s family and husband are innocent, so is the accused parents, but their lives have also been destroyed and podcasts focused on his parents, that his father once played a sport are irrelevant and sensational. Is there a suggested there is a direct link between the fathers ex occupation and this crime? If not its irrelevant. Be respectful and get the facts right.
