EP 27 How Do You Know When to Let Go of a Relationship?

Have you ever experienced the confusion and struggle of not knowing whether you should stay or leave a relationship? You might have two parts. One who wants to stay and might see the good in your partner or be afraid of being alone or scared about the future. And another part that wants to leave and might feel there are irresolvable differences and might not see a future with this person or want to go off on a solo adventure. When these two parts pull in the opposite direction, with one shouting ‘Stay!’ and the other shouting ‘Go!’, it can feel like you are in your own personal hell.

In this episode, we cover 7 indicators that it might be time to let go of your relationship

Ep 26 The Scientifically Proven Method for Achieving Your Goals

Ep 26 The Scientifically Proven Method for Achieving Your Goals

    APPLE PODCASTS | SPOTIFY
In today’s episode, Jen interviews Joanna Grover, LCSW, and Jonathan Rhodes, PhD, Co-Authors of The Choice Point: The Scientifically Proven Method for Achieving Your Goals – a groundbreaking guide set to transform lives, one choice at a time through Functional Imagery Training, FIT.

FIT can improve our decision-making and communication skills, lessen stress, increase sleep, and create a deeper sense of purpose and belonging. Jo and Jon have used FIT to train Olympic athletes, special military forces, and top CEOs around the globe.

    Joanna was the first person in the U.S. to be trained in FIT, and Jonathan is a co-developer. In this episode, we cover;

    What FIT is
Why multi-sensory imagery is more than just visualization
How to conduct a mental reset in less than a minute
A demo of an abridged version of the Choice Point methodology
How the use of cues can focus your attention and improve your performance

    ________

    Resources:

Jonathan Rhodes, PhD, is a Chartered Psychologist (British Psychological Society) and a published researcher and lecturer specializing in cognitive psychology. After working with athletes at the 2012 Olympic Games, Jonathan decided to research strategies that change mindset, train individual and cultural resilience, and enhance performance. Ten years later, Jonathan concluded that imagery is the most effective way to achieve individual and team goals. To get to this conclusion, Jonathan helped develop FIT by teaching individuals how to master their imagination, subsequently raising the performance levels of athletes who went on to compete at the Olympic Games, in Premiership football and rugby, and with a multitude of athletes competing in other sports such as with Red Bull Cliff Divers, and America’s Cup sailors. In 2019, Jonathan partnered with the British Army to develop the British Army Commando Resilience Training Program, which has increased recruits passing the All-Arms Commando Course by 44 percent. He lives in Plymouth, UK.

Joanna Grover, LCSW, is an executive coach with nineteen years of experience as a cognitive behavioral therapist specializing in anxiety. She first encountered FIT when it helped her recover from a horse-riding accident. After witnessing this strategy's effectiveness in a client’s weight loss journey, she felt even more committed to the work. She subsequently became the first person in the US to be certified in FIT. Since 2019, Jo has used FIT mainly in an individual context, where she’s worked with top leaders at the US Department of Commerce, Olympic athletes, and C-suite executions at corporations such as Citi, IBM, and KPMG. She is a board-certified coach and member of the International Coaching Federation and the Harvard Institute of Coaching. Joanna lives in Miami, FL.

Ep 25 9 Tips for Dating When You Are Avoidantly Attached

    APPLE PODCAST | SPOTIFY
When you are avoidantly attached, dating can feel like a complete minefield. You might have had people tell you that you are aloof, a closed book, secretive or not open to a relationship, even when you would like a relationship more than anything else.

Moving into deeper intimacy can feel terrifying, whether you acknowledge it and are aware of it or not. Often, it is part of your subconscious that blocks intimacy before you have any conscious say in the matter. This can be incredibly frustrating and painful for you and your partner. It can be a confusing time.

In this episode, Jen discusses the four factors that make dating difficult for the avoidantly attached and her 9 top tips for dating when you have an avoidant attachment adaptation.

IFS episodes were very valuable

I really enjoyed the episodes on IFS - I really loved how you explained something so clearly and made it very easy to understand. It’s something that I’ve always felt (the “parts”) but could never put into words…and you’ve explained it really well. Thank you
