As a Psychologist interested in wholistic, evidenced-based health care, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this podcast so much. I can hardly fault any of it, though I do have a request. I would love a more inclusive focus on the role of unresolved trauma in people’s health outcomes as well as their ability to make independent lifestyle changes, esp trauma deriving from developmental/attachment trauma that can affect one’s ability to maintain healthy lifestyle and r’ships. Would love an interview with an Interpersonal Neurobiologist or Trauma Specialist that can explain “relational” concepts of self/health, and also how healing and change (of any sort) for many must happen in the context of secure, healthy relationships, not in isolation. (Eg some attachment/relational therapists see “self regulation” as a myth, or at least as a learnt skill dependent on first experiencing sufficient developmentally foundational “co-regulation”.) Which relates to your early interview with Adam Sud. How does one with insecure attachment style and PTSD overcome addiction? They often can’t without first experiencing the security and healing aspect of a supportive relationship due their strong internalised fear & shame. As Bowlby found, early nurture from caregivers is as much of a survival need as food or shelter. And how this determines brain and physical development and health outcomes , demonstrated by the “ACE study”. In sun, would greatly appreciate a deep dive on trauma, and also on the inseparable nature of the interpersonal from the personal in health and well-being. Individualism has a lot to answer for. Thank you! I really love and feel so inspired by your work!
Articulate and true to their science

I’m a mature aged student about to finish my undergrad. Having studied a science degree I really appreciate Dean and Ayesha’s approach to research as this area is so often compromised. Every conversation is well articulated for all audiences and there is no hysterical hype. My thanks to you both for all that you give and do. If I ever get to the States you are on my bucket list!

The Sherzai are my go to podcast on how lifestyle and diet impact brain health! They make complex neuroscience accessible and consumable for a non science person. I love hearing the passion and commitment that comes through on their podcast.
