Food is the language that goes through all of us, Jimmy Wong from Masterchef

Food is the language that goes through all of us, Jimmy Wong from Masterchef

On this episode, I chill on the couch with my friend Jimmy in his beautiful home in Surry Hills.

Jimmy Wong's life is surrounded around food and cooking, his culinary knowledge is exceptional, he's a stunning photographer, a wanted content creator, the funniest guy at a party, he is also a memorable contestant on the Masterchef TV show among many other TV show appearances, a brand ambassador and just a very cool human being.

    "The world needs more Jimmy's!"

I love this episode, we touch on Jimmy's early life in his family restaurants, his mark on the corporate world working as a Senior Retail Interior Designer, his love of food, some kitchen tips, I get to discuss his journey on Masterchef, which I LOVED diving deep into, we also do a bit of a Goggle box on the 2020 Masterchef season.

Jimmy has worked in some of the most iconic kitchens in Sydney with some of the most honoured chefs the country has. I also talk about "Jimmy wong" as a brand, his company, the collaborations and his philosophy on life and food.

I loved recording this episode with Jimmy! Almost as much as I loved eating a Bhan Mi with extra pate and chilli on his white leather couch ;)

130 plates of food in the one photo with flat lay boss, Kera Wong from Kera Bear Eats

130 plates of food in the one photo with flat lay boss, Kera Wong from Kera Bear Eats

On this episode, I have a post-birthday drink with my good buddy, Kera Wong from Kera Bear Eats, one of Sydney’s most talented food photographers.

To me, Kera is the flat lay boss, she has a natural creative eye for photographs, from her eye to the lense, to the edit and to the final image.

Her photography, not just her flat lays have set a new standard in our foodie community.

If you don't know what a #flatLay is? Check out her on her Instagram page and you will see exactly what I mean.

We talk about Kera moving to Australia from New Zealand a few years ago with her partner Josh, her food journey once she landed here on the Sydney scene.

Kera gives advice to foodies on how to grow your brand through being honest and being true to who you are. She shares some of her secrets and methods but not all.... "never share all your secret sauce!"

I am grateful to Kera who also openly discusses her recovery from living with an eating disorder, her relationship with food, the recovery which leads her to be a happy, healthy and respected foodie.

Loved this episode! Have a listen and please subscribe or leave a review if you enjoyed.
