I’ve been following EV progress news across the world for years. I’m not an EV owner, but hope to be one day.

If not already planned, could you please review home charger brands. I have a Ubiquiti branded home network and security system and have been looking into their new EV charger. It’s intended for corporate use, but I assume it could also be installed privately.

Also, I’m one of those people whose concerned about the recent hike in cybersecurity threats and incursions across Australia, especially from our northern neighbours who are frequently mentioned in our News services regarding this, and who also happen to the manufacturers of many EVs sold in Australia, several of which are ultimately owned or at least controlled by their government.

About a year ago I read in an online article in The Times that a new MG was delivered to the UK intended for a British politician, and when it was checked over by the government before being handed to the recipient a listening device was found merged into in a corner of the glovebox, and it’s data was piggybacked onto the connected car signal (this last part was assumed by the journalist). Most modern cars are connected back to the manufacturer nowadays, the potential for a cybersecurity issue is reasonably high; more-so if you allow your phone to fully connect with the car.

Could you please talk about EV cybersecurity, and the very vague agreements that customers are required to sign to allow ongoing manufacturer access (I’ve also read Toyota’s service agreement is one example of this), as my concerns about this are limiting my choices to more expensive EV brands.
