Join Michelle Kapler, Reproductive Acupuncturist + Master Feminist Confidence Coach for a conversation about perimenopause and life.
Society tells women that they are valuable if they are young, hot and fertile. So what happens when we get to the part in our lives when it becomes clear that all of those things are fleeting?
We talk about the physical changes your body is going through and what they mean. But also how to change your thinking and rewire your brain so you can feel confident and bad*ss in this next stage in life - and give fewer f*cks along the way.

46. What To Do With Your Uncomfortable Feelings
In this week’s episode, we are talking all about what to do when uncomfortable or negative feelings come up.
As a human with a brain, this is inevitably part of the experience.
There are 4 ways that humans react to their negative feelings
Acting
Resisting
Avoiding
Allowing
And in this episode, I’m going to use my favorite (and very visceral) analogy of being in the dentist chair, to explain all of these.
From there, I’ll give you some ideas for how to allow and process uncomfortable feelings.

45. What To Do When Your Expectations Don't Match Reality in Treating Your Menopause Symptoms
Expectations not matching the reality of outcomes in your perimenopausal journey?
Let’s face it, if you live in a human body, you will experience this in the context of your health at some point in time.
During the (peri) menopause transition, this is a theme that we often face over and over and over again.
In this episode, I talk about what to do and what not to do when this happens.
By the end of this episode, you will have a few ideas to help you find some relief when you’re inevitably faced with that theme of “Oh yeah… Sometimes human bodies do weird things and don’t respond in the way we want them to”.

In this episode, I am sharing my conversation with Dr Laurie Alpert. She is a naturopathic doctor. We both practice in Ontario Canada. Dr Laurie has a strong focus in perimenopause and menopause in her clinical practice and we have been following each other on instagram for a while.
She reached out to me to connect for a chat and within 5 minutes, I knew that I wanted to have her on the podcast. Today we are talking about mental health through the perimenopausal transition and beyond. Some of the things that come up are:
What kind of mood changes come up for people in perimenopause
Why is this happening specifically at this time of life?
What can people do, what options are there, to help mitigate some of the mood concerns specific to perimenopause?
Are there things people can do to prepare, or reduce their risk or significant mood concerns?
And how we can keep it simple and go back to the basics to find solutions.
