Luisa’s chocolates, sneinton market
Hello and welcome to our weekly NGFP Local Lunch podcast trailer where we provide you, our lovely listeners everything you need to know about Nottingham’s local food heroes and how you can get more involved in our vibrant local food scene!
Local lunch is brought to you by me Shona Munro and me Penney Poyzer of Nottingham Good Food Partnership the go to organisation for sustainable food in our fair city.
This week NGFP Local Lunch goes on location! When we go to visit Luisa’s Vegan Chocolates at her fascinating retail and production space in Sneinton Market.
Luisa is a gold medal award winning chocolatier. We will be seeing how they make their bean to bar chocolate and hearing about her personal relationships with her suppliers many of whom are female farmers - in Colombia! There are some tragic tales of the day to day dangers facing many small scale producers which will put into sharp perspective the pain that goes with the pleasure of the world’s favourite confection. That’s why consumers like us making an ethical choice really does make a difference to the producer.
We will also talk to Luisa about the on-going research project with the Future Food Beacon at the University of Nottingham.
So tune in this Friday at 1.30pm to NGFP Local Lunch simply search on your browser - and if you miss us live - remember you can always listen again to this episode and all previous shows.
