On episode 9 of Here I interviewed William Hatungimana, one of my students at Luther College. I am ending my fourth year at Luther, and William was one of the students that I met that first year. He took my Global Politics class, where, after watching the documentary "Ghost of Rwanda" he very nonchalantly told me: "You know, I was there." William is graduating in May and starting his Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk) in August. We worked together on a few projects, including a paper he wrote on mining and development in Sub-Saharan Africa. In our 90 minutes conversation we talked about his (literal) trek from Rwanda to Swaziland, life in a refugee camp, his education there and here at Luther, and a lot of philosophizing about all kinds of stuff. I hope you all enjoy listening this as much as I enjoyed talking to William about his life.
