Meet the Pioneers of the At-Home Acid Peel, Dr. Dennis Gross & Carrie Gross

Meet pioneer of the at-home micro peel, Dr. Dennis Gross, along with his wife Carrie Gross, co-founder and CEO of the best-selling acids brand at Sephora. They flew us to their Manhattan HQ in New York City, to discover the origin story behind Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare, one of the first dermatologist brands to launch twenty years ago. Find out how the iconic Alpha Beta Universal Peel came to be, and why the DIY, daily acid peel system was a shocking idea – at a time when Sex And The City’s Samantha Jones was the poster child for aggressive pro treatments.

Stay tuned as Dr. Dennis Gross answers your most common acid peel questions, including tips on how to build this essential resurfacing step into your current skincare routine. Then, Dr. Dennis Gross – an expert in the field of melanoma – serves the real talk on the latest FDA findings, explaining why he’s advocating against chemical sunscreen filters. Plus, find out what he thinks is the biggest gimmick going in the beauty business today, along with the real deal skincare treatments that will define the next decade to come.

The #DamnGood Hot Hair Tools For A Salon Look At Home

The #DamnGood Hot Hair Tools For A Salon Look At Home

It’s pretty much scientifically proven by now: good hair days really do make us feel better. With that in mind, we’re dedicating this entire episode to the hair tools that truly deliver post-salon happiness (in the comfort and safety of your own home, tbh.) First off, we put the new Dyson Corrale Straightener to the test, and reveal whether this highly anticipated innovation is really worth the hefty price tag (!!).

Plus, meet the under-the-radar Canadian brand of hair tools said to be the first to offer the high heat and performance of a plug-in, with zero cords. Then, we test out the Drybar Double Shot Blow-Dryer Brush, to see if it can measure up against the OG (and far more affordable) Revlon Salon One-Step Volumizer Hair Dryer – already a viral sensation. Auto curling irons that bake your curls like an oven, multi-pronged stylers that promise mermaid waves – we’ve got your every hot tool desire in this all-about-hair episode!

Milk Makeup Co-Founder Zanna Roberts Rassi

Milk Makeup Co-Founder Zanna Roberts Rassi

Jill and Carlene take New York City! In today’s episode, we sit down with Zanna Roberts Rassi, Milk Makeup co-founder and fashion-editor-at-large for Marie Claire.  You may recognize Zanna in her role as E! News fashion correspondent, where she reports straight from the red carpet — or perhaps you’ve tuned into one of her viral videos with the hashtag #CommuterBeautyWithZanna.
We’re tracing the origin story behind Milk Makeup, the cool, vegan beauty brand built for Generation Z. Find out how a high fashion photo studio in NYC’s Meatpacking District served as the ultimate inspiration behind all of the products, from the best-selling Milk Makeup KUSH Mascara – the first to tout cannabis sativa seed oil in makeup – to the Insta-worthy lucite packaging, to the Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer that finally converted Carlene to using a primer!
Tune in as Zanna spills the details on Milk Makeup’s latest venture into the world of skincare, with its first ever moisturizer and cleanser. Then, we discover the greatest red carpet beauty tip she’s ever received (including the celebrity who whispered the secret!), the most treasured fashion item in her glitzy closet, and finally, after having appeared as a guest judge on Glam Masters and Project Runway All-Stars, anyone got any guesses on which t.v. show Zanna will appear on next?

TwoDoggies ,

Informative, Fun, and Relatable for Adults!

As a new listener who is 40-something and from Toronto (same as the hosts), it’s terrific to go into the back catalogue and find informative, relatable information and reviews about skincare, makeup, and wellness. Fantastic interviews (I re-listen to the Renée Rouleau episode to apply to my own routine - 60 second rule!) are a big bonus. Carlene and Jill do a great job in presenting topics, prices, product info for fans worldwide. Outstanding!

Scarfmarf ,

Informative and Fun!

I’m so glad I found these gals! I love their take on the beauty industry. Honest and refreshing!
