Life On & Off Tour with Cirque du Soleil
ft. Laura-Ann Chong | Finding purpose through the pandemic & after retirement as a pro athlete & stage performer Corine Moments Podcast

    • Health & Fitness

After an NCAA career as an Artistic Gymnast at Oregon State University, Laura-Ann had the opportunity to run away & join the circus. Obviously she dove in head first & toured the world for 7 amazing years with Cirque du Soleil’s Amaluna. Then the pandemic hit the global community & Laura-Ann & all her fellow performers were sent home to wait it out, with no idea when the curtain would re-open. She’s still waiting (along with many others) to find out when, if ever, she’ll get the opportunity to swing across the stage again.
In this episode she shares her own “dark time” grappling with the unknowns so many are experiencing with the future. Through all of that her true character shines, she’s opting for a silver lining. Pursuing her passion for PR & furthering her education & personal development as she navigates the many unknowns. She also collaborated to create Project Lumière a facebook community for people from the performing arts to share professional resources, bond & support one another as the stage has gone dark.
If you’re struggling with your mental health & going through a dark time you do not seed to suffer alone. Please, reach out to a friend, family or mental health professional in your area.
