Fabulous Social/Personal Piece
While this is a touching, personal look at Matt’s search for identity, it is easy to be distracted by the pacing of this documentary podcast. The program’s waves of personal longing, pathos and even sadness mix with Matt’s easy narrative to deliver and easy listening and engaging series.
The fact is, however, this series raises unsettling questions about medical ethics, the role of women in their own reproductive rights, lack of consent and real corporeal and spiritual violations. There will be generations of haunting painful legacy here and perhaps little to no closure for the many affected by anonymous and deceptive donor conceptions.
