    Adaptogens Vs. Nootropics

    Adaptogens Vs. Nootropics

You may have heard about adaptogens before, and if you have, you’re likely at least partly familiar with the word “nootropics” - but they are indeed different, and this article is about to clear up exactly how they differ (as well as how they are similar!).
Firstly, for a primer on adaptogens, we highly recommend you check out some of our recent blog posts here, in particular this one. Basically, adaptogens are non-toxic plants that help the body resist stressors of all kinds, whether physical, chemical or biological.
One of the (many) aspects we love about adaptogens is their level of safety. Adaptogens are well & truly food-grade herbs, which means that you can take them consistently for a long-period of time without any negative side-effects (literally, like food!).
On the other hand, while nootropics certainly have their place for healing and benefits when used in the right circumstances, they are a bit more complex in the sense of adverse effects.

Can Ashwagandha Help With Weight Loss?

Can Ashwagandha Help With Weight Loss?

Ashwagandha (aka: Indian Ginseng, Winter Cherry) is probably one of the most famous herbs used in India. Ancient Vedics have prescribed this herb safely and effectively for various ailments for 1000's of years. Western modern medicine is just now waking up to the potential of this gentle, yet powerful plant medicine. Since Ashwagandha is an adaptogen, it has broad spectrum use, helping the body rejuvenate and balance holistically.
It is most likely the multi-directional capabilities of this herb that make it easier for people to lose weight while taking it. However, weight issues are a complex issue and a "one size all" approach doesn't always work. It is well documented that chronic stress can lead to serious illnesses, with obesity being one of them.
As well, some weight related issues are caused by excess inflammation in the body. We also need to take into consideration that poor diets can lead to low-fiber intake (which helps with elimination) and with not getting enough nutrients. This can lead to fatigue, which makes it hard to work out or find the energy to exercise.
Ashwagandha is well known for reducing the negative impact of stress and helping to increase our resilience to it. (1)

    Adaptogens With Or Without Food?

    Adaptogens With Or Without Food?

While you may think of adaptogenic herbs as plant medicine (spoiler alert: they are!) - they are ultimately food-grade herbs, which means you can take them daily on a consistent basis without any negative side-effects. Adaptogens come in many forms - many popular ways of consuming these herbs include teas, tinctures, powders, and of course, gummies!
Here at AdaptDaily, we chose to deliver the plant-healing goodness in FOOD form (i.e. something that you chew and eat!) so that you can get the most out of these beneficial ingredients. When we chew, we activate the digestive fluids & acids that ultimately help us absorb the material we are taking in. So while swallowing capsules may seem most efficient, we’d beg to argue it isn’t always most effective nor therapeutic. On the other hand, actually TASTING the bitter in herbs such as ashwagandha helps to better digest and thus absorb the medicinal compounds into our bodily systems.

    Multidirectional Sleep Gummies

    Multidirectional Sleep Gummies

Sleep gummies are all the rage right now. And it’s no surprise - sleep gummies are becoming increasingly popular to relieve insomnia, as almost 40% of North Americans say they struggle with sleep. Furthermore, the demand for sleep gummies is expected to increase as more people have insomnia due to higher stress levels and better access to such products.
But are these products safe, effective, or even worth it?
Here at AdaptDaily, we’re not big fans of artificial supplements - we’re less about “hacking” our systems and playing doctor, but rather we prefer to work with plant intelligence in a food grade form. Hence, why we love food grade herbs such as adaptogens. They are “food grade” because you can take them daily and consistently without any adverse effects.

    6 Benefits of Ashwagandha

    6 Benefits of Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha has been used in Ayurvedic medicine safely & effectively for over 2500 years. Sometimes referred to as "Indian Ginseng" this powerful adaptogen grows sustainably as a shrub in India, Africa, The Middle East and China. This plant is part of the Solanaceae (or nightshade family) and produces bright yellow flowers and red berries. However, it is the roots of this shrub that are used mostly for medicinal extracts. There are two main reasons ashwagandha is so prized by both Eastern medicine and now Western herbalism. One, is because of its proven safety record and that it is non-toxic, even when taken in large amounts and for long periods of time. The second reason ashwagandha is so valuable, is because of its versatility and ability for broad spectrum use. This is only a few of the reasons this particular adaptogen is so relevant for today's modern health challenges.
Here are 6 amazing ways ashwagandha can help us.
