the Nova Scotia Mass Shooting - Jan 9 update show - with Paul Palango

    Nova Scotia, April 18-19, 2020

Over a period of thirteen hours 51 year old denturist Gabriel Wortman, dressed as a police officer and driving a replica police car, carried out Canada’s most deadly act of mass murder. In this ongoing series Nighttime will explore the many elements of this tragic story. What happened, why it happened, and what could have been done to stop him.

In this episode, I avoid the many rabbit holes and contested facts to present an abridged telling of the “official” version of the Nova Scotia Mass Shooting.

Manhunt in Halifax - the Murder of Lee Marion Cain

Manhunt in Halifax - the Murder of Lee Marion Cain

On December 21st, just days before Christmas, news alerts began spreading about a large police presence and a lock down at a Halifax children’s hospital.

When Halifax regional police shared a press release explaining the lockdown the city fell to it’s knees.

There was a shooting on Windmill Rd in Dartmouth. A young boy was injured in the shooting, transported to the IWK Children’s Hospital, but they were unable to save his life.

    Only four days before christmas.

The press release didn't share much more than that, no age or name or details, so of course rumours began to swirl.

When additional information was revealed it was via a Halifax regional police press conference, and it ends with an appeal to the public.

In this episode of Nighttime, I'm going to share portions of the Halifax Regional police's press conference related to the murder of 8 Year old Lee Marion Cain

Mellow and enjoyable

I really enjoyed some of the topics on this podcast, but regretfully I’ll be leaving. There’s been so much focus on a few subjects and conspiracist theories that I find myself listening to fewer and fewer episodes. The Curiouscast format has also meant that each episode, I’m subjected to the ignorant, misogynist advertisements of my provincial Tory party.
If you enjoy deep deep diving into implausible conspiracies, then check this one out. Jordan is a great host and has an interesting perspective.

The Creeps

Hey I really enjoyed your show about the creeps tonight. Two of my favourite Podcasters Kristie and yourself getting together & talking about this one! Really fun. I hope you do another one. Yes, as a woman I’ve had so many creepy encounters over the years and because I’m in my 50s there are dozens and dozens and dozens of them. Maybe I’ll tell you about one the next time.

Disappointing

Having heard about this podcast from another pod, I thought it would be a good one. I was sorely disappointed. I found it to be amateurish, poorly executed, too long, lacking in depth, and quite narrow minded. Expected much better.
