Harsh Reviews

I was skeptics of this podcast after reading the negative reviews. However, I think this podcast is okay. Sounds seems fine, and yes there are ads, but ads pay for costs associated with this content. Nothing in life is free folks! Be grateful and appreciated you can listen to this podcast for free. Thanks 48 Hours!

Could do without the repeat episodes.

About the music

I really enjoy the stories but the chainsaw music is jarring and extremely unpleasant

So poorly edited

Watched the show for decades, and even though the coverage and stories were a far second to Dateline, and even 20/20, I was happy to find the 48 Hours podcast channel…for an organization the size of CBS, the editing is extremely poor…empty spaces, words cut over words, and definitely not catering to the podcast listeners with little, if any, descriptive overlay of what viewers may be missing. Stories seemed rushed, incomplete, interviewers are bland and seemingly unengaged. With the rise of true crime podcasts, which are extremely well presented, the material is rich, background work supports the story, and the presenters are part of the story through the connections made with the cast of characters from each episode. CBS needs a huge facelift in this medium in order to meet the material and engagement threshold provided by other true crime podcasts.
