Canada abstains from UN assembly vote backing Palestinian bid for membership
May 10, 2024 - A United Nations resolution in support of Palestinian membership passed with overwhelming support on Friday, granting new privileges to the Palestinian Authority in its current capacity as a non-member observer state. The resolution also calls on the UN Security Council to reconsider recognizing the state of Palestine. Canada abstained from the vote, signalling a significant shift in its position on Palestinian statehood. Canada's Ambassador to the United Nations Bob Rae explains Canada's decision.

Police make arrests in the killing of B.C. Sikh activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar

I listen to your podcast every day and enjoy it. Listening to the politics of carbon pricing I’m surprised when discussing it with premieres or federal opposition parties there isn’t any challenge on if they are concerned about cost of living why aren’t cutting provincial gas taxes? A rhetorical question
Biased and completely removed from reality
I rarely listen to this podcast, especially since Vassy Kapelos left for CTV, but I tuned in this morning to a replay from last night. The segments are oddly edited and all four of the panel guests agreed with each other on a variety of topics. I can’t believe my taxpayer dollars pays for this garbage.
When they do have interesting guests on, the host ask condescending questions or doesn’t let them answer the questions. Trying for gotcha moments. It’s really embarrassing and doesn’t reflect even the moderate conservative point of view.
Most segments start with “The Conservative Party denied our request for a representative.” No kidding.
Kathleen Monk and Francois Boivin are especially egregious in their analyses of anything remotely conservative.
I used to tune in for Marieke Walsh’s takes. But she hasn’t been on in a while. I wonder why..
Skip this snooze fest and listen to Power Play with the aforementioned Vassy Kapelos, who actually knows how to ask insightful, topical questions and not just construct biased narratives based on liberal talking points.
Very one sided Liberal point of view
Constantly takes the Liberal position on issues and attacks Conservative guests. Only left wing guests and opinions are supported. Conservatives won’t even go on his show anymore. This podcast was once fair and balanced but management probably didn’t like that. At least Vassey Kapelos presents both sides on her show. I won’t listen to this CBC left wing propaganda after today.
