Parkinson's and Nordic Walking with Brad Blake Walking On Air

    • Health & Fitness

In episode 17, I talk to Brad Blake, an accredited Master Instructor with both British Nordic Walking and the International Nordic Walking Federation .  He has extensive experience in teaching Nordic Walking to people with Parkinson's disease and other neuromuscular conditions, which is the subject of our conversation today.  Earlier this year, I participated in  an in depth online training programme delivered by Brad, teaching Nordic Walking instructors how to adapt their teaching methods for people with Parkinson’s.   In our conversation today, we discuss how Nordic Walking can help people with Parkinson’s rather than going into the complexities of how to tailor the 10 steps. There is a lot to learn and so if you are interested, then I highly recommend booking onto one of Brad’s future courses.

If you are someone living with Parkinson’s, then please look for your nearest instructor by visiting the British Nordic Walking website and clicking on their find an instructor link.  If you have any specific questions for Brad, then he has kindly agreed for people to contact him by emailing him at brad.blake@britishnordicwalking.org.uk and if you are an instructor who is interested in attending a Parkinson’s course then please email info@britishnordicwalking.org.uk and ask if you could be put on the waiting list.
