It gets better
Review based on the titular Swallows of the South series.
Swallows of the South is a podcast with a high production value. The episodes are very focused on character interactions and gameplay, with little to no dead air or out-of-character banter. All participants have some good voice acting skills, lending their talents to a colourful cast of PCs and NPCs. Quinn is an excellent GM guiding players new to the setting through what Exalted is and letting them take reigns in their world.
One weak part of the series is that it takes awhile to get good. End of the "Song of the Shieldmaiden" / start of "Ashen Mask and the Dream-Eaters of the Hidden City" seasons is where I started to really get into it. Early interactions between Godwin and Ariston are especially mean and can be off-putting, and lack of follow-through with the Lovers plotline is disappointing. It does feel good when characters get their comeuppance, but it takes awhile.
The series does end on a high note though with a few strong seasons. And if that's the indication of quality going forward, this podcast will be great! Highly recommend!
An emphasis on characters and role play
This actual play podcast is very dedicated to characterizations of it's player characters, but is also fun and apporachable for folks new to Exalted 3rd Ed. As this podcast is episodic it is best to start from the very beginning and just power you way through so as not to get lost in the story as it builds.
Excellent Story Telling and player representations, a joy to listen to.
