Hi Matthew, Taliesin, Laura, Sam, Travis, Marisha, Ashley and Liam and everyone that makes this show possible. I listen to your show a lot. I’m behind, because life is a lot. Tonight I got back home after my partners surgery and once I put her to bed, I tuned into listen to an episode and just hearing y’all laughing lifted a weight off that I didn’t realise I was carrying. Thank you so much and keep doing what you’re doing please. Xx Luke

I just found this podcast and began with C3. I am new to D&D (other than computer games) and have been thoroughly impressed with the ability of Matt Mercer to move the story forward and keeping me hooked on what happens next. He is very talented with voices, with changing character roles quickly(as NPCs) , adapting to different actions/ideas the players are putting forth and just keeping the flow of the game without getting bogged down in rules/debates about game mechanics. I can’t comment on whether this is true to the D&D books but the entertainment value is superb and you easily get drawn into the fantastic world he portrays. The story has not been stuck to a linear path and feels like you are experiencing live development as you listen along. The actors are excellent as well, with great ability to convey the emotion that their characters are feeling/going through. They tackle backstories nicely as they share with one another which helps you relate better and develops more of a tie with them. Sadly, there are drawbacks. The amount of swearing/vulgarity seems to be growing while moving through the episodes and that is something that pulls you out of the story, as it doesn’t add to it. Adults joking with each other is expected as they are friends playing together but, at times they go too far and it ends up taking away from the experience of the story. Also, some of the woke ideas presented by certain characters is unneeded and draws you out of the story. Again, the storytelling and actors are incredible, and their talent is not to be overlooked. They are inspiring with their ability to build this fantastic world for the listeners and other than the fore mentioned issues is well worth the time.

Been a listener from c1e1 on and that’s a rediculous amount of content. This group has taken dnd to a new level, achieving a balance of exciting gameplay and collaborative fantasy storytelling. ….And the occasional shopping episode. Thank you CR for keeping me alert, engaged and laughing while rolling down the highways.
