    Reading Tarot, Living Magic: Insights from Andrew McGregor

    This week, we’re thrilled to welcome the incredible Andrew McGregor—artist, tarot reader, podcaster, magician, and owner of The Hermit’s Lamp, a beloved tarot shop in Toronto and online. Andrew’s journey into tarot began at 13 when his Nan gifted him his first deck, sparking a lifelong connection to the cards. A near-death experience at 14 deepened his search for meaning, setting him on a path of exploration into tarot, magic, and the mysteries of the universe.  In our conversation, we dive into Andrew’s daily spiritual practice and how it shapes his work, as well as his thoughts on different approaches to tarot, including elements of the Rider-Waite-Smith and Tarot de Marseille traditions. It was a fascinating and enjoyable discussion, full of wisdom and warmth.  To close the episode, we each pulled a tarot card and shared our insights. Andrew has written three books, created five tarot decks, and collaborated on several others.
