Welcome to our podcast on podcasting! This bi-weekly micro podcast began as a co-hosted podcast asking marketing leaders and founders “What keeps you up at night?”. After 150 episodes, we took the patterns we saw in the answers and niched down into specific material on building thought leadership using podcasts to grow your business.
I am your host, Susan Diaz, podcasting founder, diversity, equity, inclusion podcaster (co-host of ABCDEI) humour junkie, and mom. Each episode, I’ll deliver a micro lesson, content play, framework, or interview with awesome humans with a marketing bent of mind. Here, you’ll find the latest in building podcasting infrastructure that pays! 📌Bonus 📌 along the way, you’ll find tons of marketing news, fresh-pressed examples of the most entertaining marketing hits and misses 😁, and what we can learn from them.
We live and breathe a theme around here. So, you’ll find new episodes on social every alternate Thursday, at 4am!

EP192 How to run a large-scale content audit without a spreadsheet
Welcome to The 4am Report! You’ve joined me as I round out the second part of a 2-part mini series where I teach B2B service founders, and content marketers, in detail, about the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of content audits in a recession.
In this episode, I’ll focus specifically on “the how”; how to make it easy on yourself if you are doing a large-scale audit without the use of a cumbersome and snooze-inducing spreadsheet. (if you haven’t heard the first part, it might be valuable to go back and listen to episode 191. That said, if you are an experienced content creator, jump right into this episode and go back to 191 if you need.)
In under 15 minutes, on this episode, you’ll learn:
📌 About specific tactics to apply to a content marketing audit - specifically how to set up for a larger scale content audit if you have over a hundred pieces of content in the past 18 months.
📌 About why you will need an organizational process to structure and categorize content pieces, as well a visual system that can be used for multiple stakeholders to gain visibility and commit to actions that can be tracked.
📌 The basics of the “Kanban” system of project management, and how to apply the basics of this philosophy of LEAN production for a JIT (just-in-time) inventory control system to a deeply creative and fast-paced field such as publishing and content marketing.
📌 How to pick and put into practice a project management tool - whether Trello, Airtable, or a different one that you use internally, to create a highly visual and fluid interface for organizing large amounts of content and remote team members to ensure that nothing slips through the cracks.

EP188 An UNboring ChatGPT primer for marketers
Welcome back to 💫The 4 AM Report 💫
In this episode the one piece of tech that's on the mind of a majority of the people in the online business world. GPT, or generative AI. The most commonly known one is ChatGPT, a product that was introduced in November 2022. The very first weekend that they launched this free product, they had over a million people sign up.
While AI is not replacing any human jobs anytime soon, it’s definitely worth adding to your toolkit to supercharge your communication efforts; especially if you’re a writer of any type.
On the episode I dive into:
💡What generative AI (artificial intelligence) is and why ChatGPT is a phenomenon.
💡Why it's AI needs to be viewed as a super-tool and not a person (or a threat).
💡How ChatGPT (and other AI platforms) can be used as a tool to uber-simplify the grunt work that is involved in the process of creating any kind of marketing material (especially writing)
💡Why, and how can you use ChatGPT for lateral thinking (with some examples of things I now regularly use it for)
💡How to deal with naysayers and voices in your head who are not “early adopters”
Grab a 🍻☕️🍹beverage 🍻☕️🍹Kick back. And enjoy this epic episode we have for you!!!

EP187 The ultimate guide to repurposing content
Welcome back to The 4am Report podcast. In this episode we are talking about the importance of repurposing content, especially as you head into a recession.
The idea of repurposing has a number of benefits, including saving time, effort, and headspace, saving dollars. Somewhere along the way, people have started to think that creating new content is the only way to market and we strongly oppose that perspective. 🙅🏻♀️
Dig right into it 👇
✅ How to repurpose a defunct webinar or masterclass into a podcast or video series
✅ How to cross-populate material from your shows to boost your website publishing goals (and break down some serious content silos)
✅ How to start thinking about your blog beyond the written format
✅ What pitfalls to watch out for and protections to consider when you cross populate content across different platforms
Listen in 🎧
