They may have moved slowly, up to now - but given the sheer scale of this industry overhaul, that’s about to change. It has to. Because there’s only so much nickel to source - and if you’re not in the electric vehicle business in 10 years, you’re not in the vehicle business. You’re out of business.

Battery technology keeps getting better and better - as our battery needs keep growing and growing. In this episode, we’ll look at the future of battery technology and ask: what’s driving innovation; can batteries meet the demands of an EV revolution; what’s getting battery fans really charged up; and what does future technology mean for nickel and other critical metals?

Electric vehicles are the future – and the future is coming fast. By 2030, more than 50% of all new cars sold will be electric … and it'll only go up from there. Can supply keep up with demand? Are there enough raw materials out there for batteries? Will people embrace or resist change? In this episode, we look at all the activity, excitement and trepidation happening in this space, and the role ESG plays in helping keep our moral compass on track.

A week or so after recording episode 3, in just a two day period, Nickel prices more than tripled, reaching levels twice the previous record high. Trading was halted - and in an incredibly rare and controversial move, billions of dollars worth of trades were unwound/cancelled. And the kicker: all of this happened in the wake of war breaking out in the Ukraine. So what does it all mean? That’s what we asked.

The electric vehicle & battery revolution is here - and a vehicle industry that dates back more than 125 years is now being forced to change and adapt on an unprecedented scale. As the automotive world pivots, and supply chains are completely redefined, new “critical materials” are being identified and prioritized, like Nickel ... creating a whole new list of potential investment opportunities in this space.
