A young missionary named Renee Bach left her comfortable life in America to start a malnutrition program in rural Uganda. Folks back home and in Uganda praised her as a model missionary -- an example of the healing power of God’s message. But a decade later she’s accused of masquerading as a doctor and rumored to have killed hundreds of children in her unlicensed clinic. How did Renee Bach end up here? Is she a case of good intentions gone wrong...or a predator posing as a saint? Hosted and reported by journalists Rajiv Golla, Halima Gikandi and Malcolm Burnley.

thumbs up

This podcast is definitely underrated! I’m surprised that not many people have heard of it!
I think this podcast sheds light on to the white saviour complex (which continues to fascinate me). I am not a religious person so I find it interesting and strange that missionaries believe they were “called by god” to go “save” these people.

(The only thing I didn’t like about this podcast is the forced way Halima spoke, it sounded like an uncomfortable news report)

Language is very biased - good story though

I think the story was compelling enough without the narrators needing to sound so biased.

Phrases like “ in other words” where the narrator then rewords someone’s quote … just unnecessary.

Definitely a story that needed to be told.

Stop picking on Halima

Excellent podcast.
