More Joanna & Mallory
2023-05-24
Joanna is in my top 5 favourite cultural critics and podcasters of all time. I’ve followed her from Vanity Fair to her many personal podcasts (like The Storm) to The Ringer and will continue to follow her no matter where she lands. Discovering Mallory has also been a delight and their Yellowjackets reviews/recaps are unparalleled. I was also so excited that Joanna would be doing Succession recaps this season BUT those episodes have been almost excruciating to listen to because of Bill. Not knowing characters names or basic plot points/facts about the show, applying minimal media literacy or critical thinking to the episodes, clear bias against female characters (especially Shiv), and just a complete misunderstanding of the show. He speaks over Joanna constantly with his bizarre & dumb takes and it’s been so frustrating that I literally paused the latest episode and *redownloaded* Apple podcasts to leave this review. TLDR; more Joanna, way less Bill

Amanda, please stop talking about the royals.

Amanda is one of the worst royally educated individuals. Constant mistakes. I’m correcting her all the time. There is no Prince of Cornwall. The Duchy of Cornwall is not taxpayer funded. Princess Kate has never posed for paparazzi photos. Seriously, you misinformed and coming across very biased. Jo, love you and your work.
