Sometimes life just gets busy and complicated. It is easy to focus on our daily responsibilities and obligations and become out of touch with our body. By getting curious and beginning to notice physical sensations, we  can learn so much about ourselves and our body. Cultivating body awareness opens us up to the experience of feeling emotions in the body. These bodily cues can be a helpful guide and we can also begin to notice the tendencies of our mind. Noticing our self talk and false refuges can become another cue for us to know when we might need some gentle self care. Once we bring these cues into our awareness, we have the capacity to make good choices and care for ourselves in a skillful manner. By taking a moment to check in with yourself, you are practicing self care at the most foundational and fundamental level. Our bodies are all different, what ways do you notice your body sending out messages? Be curious and play around with some of these ideas if you would like to.     The habits and behaviors we adopt while in pursuit of a particular body weight, shape, or size are not only unsustainable but they can actually be harmful to your health. Evidence based research has proven that 95-98% of people who lose weight will gain it back within 2-5 years. And more often than not, they tend to gain back more weight than they had initially lost. Sounds pretty hopeless, right? The good news is that you are not a failure. Diets are the problem. Are you feeling obsessed with food, exercise, and your body? Do you have a have a hard time knowing how to live a healthy lifestyle without stressing and obsessing over food, exercise, and your body? Have you heard so many conflicting things about what you "should" eat that you are not sure what "normal" eating actually looks like? You are not alone. You have come to the right place and I am so happy you have joined us! I have created this podcast to help people just like you learn how to live a lifestyle that is truly health promoting, flexible, and sustainable for life. I think we can all agree that we're pretty happy to move on from the year 2020, it has been quite an unpleasant year for many of us in a lot of different ways. I propose we wrap up 2020 leaving diet mentality and dieting behaviors behind for good.
