**It's the Radiotopia fundraiser! We can only make this show with your support. Give now and help support This Day and all the independent shows at Radiotopia. Thank you! https://www.radiotopia.fm/donate** It's November 24th. This day in 1922, seven Western States enter into the Colorado River Compact, which splits up access to the water supply from the major river -- but cuts out access to indigenous tribes. Jody, Niki, and Kellie are joined by reporter Charly Edsitty to discuss how the compact came together, how it fueled the expansion of the Southwest, and how Navajo tribes have been fighting to restore access ever since. Charly is the host of the new series from ABC News called "Reclaimed: The Lifeblood Of Navajo Nation" -- find it now wherever you listen to your favorite podcasts! Sign up for our newsletter! • Since 2014 this longstanding podcast favourite has been creating hard-hitting cinematic stories about love, bodies and all of the things between humans that we don’t know how to name. • The Stoop podcast digs into stories that are not always shared out in the open. Hosts Leila Day and Hana Baba start conversations and provide professionally-reported stories about what it means to be Black and how we talk about blackness. Come hang out on The Stoop as we dialog about the diaspora.

  • Song Exploder is a podcast where musicians take apart their songs, and piece by piece, tell the story of how they were made. Each episode features an artist discussing a song of theirs, breaking down the sounds and ideas that went into the writing and recording. Hosted and produced by Hrishikesh Hirway.

  • Named one of the Best podcasts of 2023 by the New York Times, Vogue, and Vulture Weight For It is a three time Podcast Academy Award winning narrative podcast that explores the ways we think about our bodies.  Through personal storytelling and deep dive interviews, host Ronald Young Jr. unpacks the navigation of the world around him that just doesn't seem to fit.

  • Radiotopia Presents premiers short multi-episode series in one podcast feed, unified by bold, inclusive storytelling pushing the boundaries of audio. With Radiotopia Presents, we’re reaffirming and doubling down on our commitment to supporting independent creators and their ownership of their intellectual property. Because creators own their content, they can pursue additional paths after a series debut, including adaptations and spinoffs of their work.  Each series is developed in partnership with independent producers who received financial, production, and promotional support from Radiotopia to bring their idea to the widest possible audience. Learn more about Shocking, Heartbreaking, Transformative at radiotopiapresents.fm and discover more shows from across the Radiotopia network at radiotopia.fm.

  • THE TRUTH makes movies for your ears. They're short stories that are sometimes dark, sometimes funny, and always intriguing. Every story is different, but they all take you to unexpected places using only sound. If you're new, some good starting places are: Silvia's Blood, That's Democracy, Moon Graffiti, Tape Delay, or whatever's most recent. Listening with headphones is encouraged!
