Biblical Worldview vs Worldview - The Bible is one unified story | Part 9 Passionate Life Church

    • Religion und Spiritualität

Welcome to Passionate Life Church! This week we are blessed to have Pastor Andrew sharing the importance of looking at the world with a biblical perspective. Join us this Sunday!
-----------------------------------------------------
Reason 8 we can trust the Bible:

The Bible is one unified story.

The books were picked because the early church recognized that these books had an inherent authority for how Christians live and what they believe.

The Bible is a collection of 66 books and letters written by more than 40 authors over a period of about 1,500 years.

The Bible itself illustrates some of the materials used: engravings in clay, inscriptions on tablets of stone, ink and papyrus, vellum, parchment, leather, and metals.

The original languages of the Bible include Hebrew, common Greek, and Aramaic.

1 Peter 1:10-12 NLT

Reason number 9
The bible has survived and thrived through all attacks.

The Bible has been made illegal in 54 Countries.
Bestselling book every year by far and 6 billion copies in circulation.

1 Peter 1:24-25 NLT

Attack 1
(2 Kings 23:28-37). The prophet Jeremiah was commissioned by Jehovah to write a sacred scroll, which threatened divine destruction unless the king and his people repented of their wickedness.

Attack 2
After the death of Alexander the Great, the Greek empire was divided into four segments (cf. Daniel 8:8), and the Jewish people fell under the control of a remarkably evil ruler whose name was Antiochus Epiphanes.

Attack 3
Diocletian occupied the imperial throne from A.D. 284-305. In A.D. 303, he inaugurated a series of merciless persecutions upon those who professed the religion of Christ. Hurst notes:

Reason 10
People were willing to die for it.

William Tyndale was a linguist who believed that everyone should be able to read the Bible in their own language. However, under a 1408 law, translating the Bible into English was illegal.

According to Wycliff Global Alliance the Bible has been translated into this many languages:
Full Bible: 736 languages represent 6 billion people.

New Testament: 1658 languages represent 824 million.
Portions: 1264 languages represent 449 million.
Total: 3658 with at least some scripture represents 7.23 billion people and 97% of the population.

Matthew 24:13-14 NLT
