Sophia Amargi, M.A., MFT is a licensed psychotherapist with an international private practice based in Southern California that specializes in healing complex unresolved childhood trauma.

Sophia understands complex trauma from a unique and spiritual perspective; having graduated with an M.A.from California institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco and informed by over 25 years of her personal medicine journeys. Sophia has subjectively worked with Ayahausca, Yage', San Pedro, 5MEO-DMT, Psilocybin, MDA, MXE, LSD and other visionary, psychedelic and entheogenic medicines that have taken her to the jungles of Peru, the mountains of Costa Rica and throughout East Africa, India and Asia.

What initially began as a very personal journey to heal her own childhood wounding at the hands of an abusive mother, developed into a deep understanding of how the application of these medicines can be used adjunctively in healing trauma both personal and global. Sophia's therapeutic process unwinds her clients from the matrix of trauma, story, belief that impacts, unconsciously, what people believe about their value, worth and lovability keeping them stuck in the limitation of their stories and beliefs, as opposed to living from their authenticity and truth. Sophia explains how these wounds or early traumas impact identity itself and continue, unconsciously, to iterate through and define adult experience. Life is then trauma driven and trauma defined, and people react to external stimuli from their wounds, feeling the need to defend against unresolved childhood betrayals, abandonment and broken trust-as opposed to responding to the world from safety, sufficiency and sovereignty.

In this podcast Sophia will share her clinical knowledge and practice around healing trauma and through interviews with other healers, shamans, medicine women and men from all over the world and practitioners who also interweave medicine work with quantum healing, will offer up a new paradigm through which to conceptualize healing both individual and planetary.
