    Minisode: Some Small/Smol Announcements

A short little episode to tell you about a change we're making to Ologies that I am genuinely very pumped about, as well as some weird secrets I did not intend to tell. But my point is that you can now have a kid-safe show and feed that is safe for kids and classrooms and a road trip with your shy parents.

Genocidology (CRIMES OF ATROCITY) with Dirk Moses

Genocidology (CRIMES OF ATROCITY) with Dirk Moses

The world is confusing, but there are experts in everything. In our least funny episode ever, we thankfully convinced a global expert, professor, researcher, author, and Genocidologist (it’s a real word) Dr. Dirk Moses to answer the questions that we may secretly have: What exactly is genocide? How long has it been happening? Is it a war crime? Is it a crime of atrocity? Who makes up humanitarian law? What's self-defense — and what's offense? How is it litigated? Whose business is it? Why do we do this to each other? What can be done? It’s a dense, long episode with lots of asides for history and context, but it might be just what you need to give you perspective on the conditions — and cycles of trauma — that can lead to crimes of atrocities.

Fantastic show where science is fun

Thanks to my friend Rick, who pointed me to this podcast and insisted on listening in. I was immediately hooked and instead of waiting for a new episode per week I started to go back to episode one and listen to them all. Even topics I didn‘t think I‘d be interesting in (e.g. cosmetology) were fun and amazing due to the incredible guests, that have been picked by Alie to address the topic. Since then Alie is my companion on the regular road trips I‘ve to take and the necessity to get from A to B for my job became actually something I‘m looking forward to, because I get to listen to few episodes on each trip. So thanks to Rick for pointing the podcast out to me and thanks a bunch to Alie for making my trips so much more fun. And Alie, should you ever be around in the neighborhood (so somewhere in Germany from your point of view ;-)), I‘d be happy to have a coffee and chat with you.

schwurbel

A barrage of incessant opinioning, laymen-level at rare best, subjective experience standing in for the protestant fallacy of the outer reflecting the inner, nerve-wrecking accounts of experiences made, "haven't we all..?". No, we haven't, & not a thing is saying less than personal experiences.

Comfort food for the mind

That’s it. That’s what this podcast is: comfort food for the mind. Like eating a big bowl of pasta with your favorite sauce, but with your brain.
