    In this series, now named "Journey Through Muzak with Andy,” I will be sharing my top 10 favorite albums released each year! Starting with 1965, and continuing all the way to the present year.

    "The rock musical Hair opens on Broadway. 500,000 march on Washington DC to protest the Vietnam war with musical support from Arlo Guthrie, Pete Seeger, John Denver and Peter, Paul and Mary. ​The Beatles, Donovan, Beach Boys singer Mike Love, actress Mia Farrow and others travel to India to hang with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Gibson introduces the Flying V guitar. The final episode of the Monkees TV show airs on NBC in the US. In December. Elvis Presley's comeback special airs on NBC. Hard rock gains ground as it morphs into heavy metal."

Elvis Presley marries long time girlfriend Priscilla Beaulieu. The debut album from the Jimi Hendrix Experience is released. The Monterey Pop Festival, the world's first large-scale (200,000 attendance) outdoor music festival is held. Britain moves to outlaw off-shore "pirate" radio stations. The first issue of Rolling Stone magazine is published. Soul music star Otis Redding and four members of his band are killed in a plane crash."
