    DS9 s2e26 “The Jem'Hadar”

    DS9 s2e26 “The Jem'Hadar”

It's a high octane thrill-ride of pew-pews! (eventually, and briefly.) Until then, it's a strangely slow farce on a camping trip. Is it fun or dull? Andy and Matt can't agree. And if you're a hailbag skip-per, check out the beginning for A BIG TNC NEWSFLASH!

    DS9 s2e25 “Tribunal”

    DS9 s2e25 “Tribunal”

DS9 s2e25 “Tribunal” Matt obsesses over an apparent time traveler from the 1970s, and Andy enjoys a cavalcade of funny characters in this exploration of the Cardassian legal system.  Remember folks, winning isn’t everything!  As this podcast proves.

    DS9 s2e24 “The Collaborator”

Is this episode a nuanced tale of political intrigue or b-b-b-boring?  Or both?  Andy sings the praises of Louise Fletcher’s villain who makes Nurse Ratched seem palatable, the boys debate Vedek Bareil’s pecs.

DS9 s2e23 “Crossover” - a semi funny Star Trek podcast currently about TV's Deep Space Nine

It's a trip back to Mirror Town, and one of our hosts loves it and one hates it! But will they be replaced by a reverse version of themselves by the end? Also: what does it take to kill a goo man?

    DS9 s2e22 “The Wire”

    DS9 s2e22 “The Wire”

A tour de force from recurring character Garak in bizarrely play-like long scenes hooks Andy and Matt, as Mr. Fasc-tastic (Mr. Fascistastic? Mr. Fascistic?) Odo checks the cameras he's hidden all around DS9.

[Episode discussion begins around  58:00, takes a Letterman detour, then actually begins at 1:06ish]

DS9 s2e21 “The Maquis, Part II”

DS9 s2e21 “The Maquis, Part II”

The second part of this Maquis de Sade-centric two-parter, one of the few Treks to follow the possible Best of Both Worlds/Godfather II template of 2 being better than 1.  To Andy's shock, Odo show the Mr. Fantastic powers he always assumed he was hiding, and Dukat starts to live up to his (future) legend.

The friendship you wish you had

You might remember Matt Mira from great hits like The Nerdist or FEAB and Andrew Secunda from... something big. If you've ever wanted to hear in depth discussions about Star Trek in a way that not only two nerdy friends, but two professional tv writers would have, look no further! Matt and Andy really made it possible to have a Star Trek podcast that's only part Star Trek, but mostly friendship. Recurring sections like "Frank Sinatra, come on!" will start as a funny bit, evolve into something you despise and eventually become a beloved part of the podcast. Many in-jokes have developed over time and it really is worth it to listen all the way back from the beginning. They have by far created the best Star Trek podcast on the internet. How could that happen?

Love the Podcast!

Hi guys,

my name is Janni from Germany and I have just finished the first season of your Podcast, so in a sense I am writing you from the past, hope you guys keep up the good work :)
Really looking forward the better episodes from season 3 onwards but will miss the banter going on about the first and second season.
I am only 29 years old so I have watched most of the episodes in re-runs, however it is still one of my all-time fav series.
BTW I always skip the Troi/ Troi Mum eposides as they are just increadible boring (apart from Face of the Enemy) and really just hate both characters...They are not only annoying but really dull as well.

Hope to here my comment in a couple of months :)

Big Fan

I love this podcast and the whole nitpicking. It is as good as ST: Discovery is bad. And it is the worst everto come with the name Star Trek. I wish I could get an unfiltered opinion from Matt. But with a paying gig there goes the chance for an unbiased opinion.
Can'twait for you to get to DS9 - in a couple of years...
